Addicted to mod projects? Got a GoPro camera?

Honestly....I can't even believe this idea wasn't brought up before. Anyways, if anyone's doing a simple install or a crazy install...consider buying a helmet strap for your GoPro where you can mount it on top of your head or your chest if you get a chest harness. It would be cool to see how installs are done through 1st POV aka gopro. Be sure to include a link for all of us that wants to watch the video

Most people really don't want to go through the hassle of editing, thats why I think it really hasn't been done much before. Unless there is some incentive beyond +1s from other forum viewers, I don't think many will do it.

Its a great Idea though, it might have saved my some time on my suspension install haha.

There was guy who offered to post some mod videos a while back but it kind of died. I think making videos would be cool, but the only problem with POV, is that you tend to "Not" keep your head/chest focused on what you're doing while you're doing it (i.e. cranking down on your coilovers) plus any instructional video that includes any type of shaking would get old pretty quick.

I'm not discouraging your idea if someone is willing to do it, but, i think a camera on a tripod focused on the work area would be much better.

I might consider videotaping my install of the HU (if this video were to be shown to the public, the video would be considered as a comedy video to those that have a lot of experience with replacing the HU 'cause I've never done it before!), but I have a scratch on my GoPro Naked lenses so I'm sending the damaged camera in and scoop up a new HERO2 camera that was released not too long ago. I will also need to order a chest harness/helmet mount though, I'm leaning toward the chest harness. If I had plenty of time, I would volunteer to edit any raw footage into a solid how-to-install video but unfortunately college is taking up most of my free time

Darkie, good looks. I didn't know someone offered to do how- to videos. Too bad it never caught on though, it is a sick idea. I can definitely see the hassle of having to edit but I personally think it's worth it if it helps people in the end. Same concept with doctors & medical school. Obviously money's part of the reason why they became doctors, but I have few friends who is attending medical school because they were either inspired by a medical event that personally involved them (family members going through medical ordeals, etc) or they just want to be able to take care of people and treat them if they have medical issues. All the studying, long hours of classes, difficult exams is all worth it in the end because you get to help treat someone else, someone with a soul of their own. So creating how-to videos helps people in the end & the hard work that goes into it should pay off greatly because of that very fact

In semi seriousness, a time lapse video from a camera on a tripod or something would be neat. I've always liked watching builds that are sped up.


Otherwise if instructions are your objective, I think DIYs with pictures are the tried-and-true method.
