Adding 3rd Row Seats to Trail?

Is it possible to buy the seats from toyota and add them to a trail model? Like will all the brackets already be there? Or is there a lot of work involved?

I was planning on buying a new SR5 with 3rd row but came across a really clean used trail model. I'd rather buy the used trail but 3rd row seats really will be needed for us.

Sorry. Although technically feasible it won't be easy or cheap. You have interior parts, seat belt mounts, floor is different and a bunch of other things. Buy the SR5.

.... 3rd row seats really will be needed for us.

If they're "really needed", I'd suggest you use the Search method up in the stickies, and do some research -- lots has been written -- and I'd guess, oh, 80% is not very favorable.

"Cramped, poor access, inadequate heating/ac, strictly kids"....

You may need a van (down by the river).

I removed my 3rd row seats. I think the seats would probably bolt right in any 5th gen. The problem is the seat belts on the ends of the seat are in the quarter panel area and has completely different interior trim panels and rear cargo area trim. I believe the 3rd row seat vehicles also have 3rd row seat air bags. You would also need the sliding 2nd row seats to be able to get to the 3rd seat.

Probably won't have seatbelt mounting brackets. Buy a SR5 and do a trail conversion.... Much easier IMO.
