Adding Navigation to 2011 SR5

I recently bought a 2015 Tundra Crewmax limited with factory navigation, and after my wife drove my truck she now wants Nav in her 2011 4Runner non jbl system. Can factory Nav be added? If not are the factory looking units on eBay such as Casksa or Rosen worth it? I would just put a pioneer unit in there but I like to keep everything looking stock. If this is the wrong forum for this question could you please direct me to the correct place. Thanks in advance.

A Garmin is by far the better NAV product, portable, easily upgraded (mine's lifetime), and much less costly. I've read far more negatives than positives on here about the factory navi.

And many just use a smartphone app.

4Runners are typically wired for exactly what's on the window sticker, so plunking in a Toyota unit is not generally considered doable. If you require in-dash, aftermarket is probably the best way to go.

I ran a Gamin Nuvi 50LM in my last 4runner and when I bought my 2015 I decided I wanted a permanent solution so I sprung for ENTUNe w/NAV... big mistake. the Garmin was way better and I could take it on hikes too.

Garmin is night and day better than the factory nav, plus you get life time map updates and Garmin updates the maps A LOT throughout the year. The other cool thing with Garmin is you can import Topo Maps and trail maps and use that for off road navigating.

I would just get her a garmin, but the Nav isn't the most important part to her. I think the main reason she wants it is for the iPod interface and the back up camera.

While I agree with others that a Garmin based nav is going to be much better than the factory, I also understand the desire to have a stock looking fixed unit.

In my 2006 limited, I ordered a Rosen factory looking unit only to find out after getting it that it would not fit with the limited trim. I ended up with a Kenwood (which does use Garmin for the nav portion). So just a caution if you do go with a Casksa or Rosen to make sure it does fit in your specific model.

I have yet to see a perfect in-dash navigation system. They all seem to have some quirks. The Kenwood UI was pretty bad but the navigation worked really well. The current factory unit has a better UI overall, but the navigation is worse and the support for USB flash media is just plain bad.

I haven't looked at the Rosen units in a long time, but back when I did, the main complain was that it was slow.

Pro/Cons

I swapped out my stock HU back in 2011 with a Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT (out dated now). Initially went with the Metra dash kit, but ultimately switched it out with the Scosche kit which looks a lot better in my opinion.

PROs:

Stock-ish look
Navigation
DVD
ipod integration
XM integration
SD card slot
Steering wheel control integration

CONS:

Lack of updates
No OEM powered mic integration
No OEM XM antenna integration
Bluetooth chip burned out

All in all I do love my Pioneer, but I do miss my Garmin from time to time.
