Adding TE gauges to SR5...W/Pics

Cool upgrade. Do you know if the tinted lens for the TE/LE can be used on the SR5 cluster?

Just an FYI to anyone wanting to do this swap. The truck was in the dealer getting a vent looked at and I ran into the tech that did the "gauge swap" service for me.

I do not know if I mentioned this before, but here is a CYA if you decide to do this swap.

-Order Used gauges
-Plug them into your dash to confirm correct operation reset oil maint light (VERY IMPORTANT STEP)
-send gauges to Dominic to be programmed MORE than your current miles (I did 100)
-Get gauges back from Domininc and plug them in to test operation again and note mileage.
-when your are withing a few miles of the programmed miles take it to the dealer (dash already apart) and pay the $100 to have them drop the gauges in when the mileage matches.

When you do it this way the mileage and the gauge swap is logged in your service record and cannot be disputed down the road.

I have been a little scatter brained lately, so if anything needs better explaining I would be happy to explain.

I know this is an old thread, but I just found it after putting the Optitron Instrument Panel from a totaled 2011 Limited into my 2010 SR5 and encountering the inability to reset the oil change light.

I already had the mileage reprogrammed locally, but in my case the LE cluster had 165k miles on it and I had it reprogrammed to 128k that my SR5 is at.

All the links to Dominic's shop don't seem to be valid anymore, so couldn't ask him specifics.

Sounds like I might just need to take the LE cluster back to my guy that reprogrammed the mileage locally and ask him to:
- set cluster mileage back to original 165k
- put it back in my 4Runner; Run through the oil change light reset
- set cluster mileage back to 128k on my 4runner and reinstall

Am I understanding that correctly? Did you have any other issues now that it's been a few years?

Luckily I saw this thread before I did the swap, so I plugged it in to reset the oil light before I sent it off to have the mileage reprogrammed. I used the same person as the OP, TVandNavtogo off eBay to correct the mileage. I've had no issues with it. One of the best mods I've done, along with the 2020+ radio swap really updated the interior in my 12 year old truck.

Glad to hear it is working well for you! Did you by any chance try resetting the maintenance light again once you got the cluster back with the correct mileage? I was curious if it will let you reset the maintenance light again once it comes time or if it just suppresses it for 5k miles. I'm hopeful that was my only missing step. The gauges are such an awesome upgrade.

I was finally able to find the ebay shop for TVandNavtogo, so I'll reach out to them and see what they recommend since I already had the mileage reprogrammed.

Agreed. The optitron gauges are a very sweet replacement for the stock SR5 gauges.
