Seriously....
Every time I try to get tickets for shows in LA, mostly always end up getting skunked in the presale, even with a presale code... then you go on stub hub half hour later and thers probably a hundred seats for sale for 200 bucks more. Such a rip.
Stub hub is sh!t just because IMO it allows this abuse. Sh!t pisses me off..... I'd rather it be sold out to people who actually are going and not in it to make a quick buck.

The vendors, the promoters, the artists all want the sky high prices. Artists don't see the money flowing in from CDs and the like as well as big contracts with record companies now as in the past so they have to make up for it somehow.

We are talking about 2 different things. Stub hub tickets are mostly tickets that are being resold. The sellers purchased from venue and are selling them at a higher price because they believe the demand will support that price.
Venue and artists get paid out of the $35(whatever amount) door/ticket price. Venue makes money from food/drink sales honestly.
It is not the artist or venue selling a 35$ face value ticket for 250$ on stub hub.... it's a bunch of a $$hats that have 0 interest in going.
Even day of the show you will still see 50 or so listing for tickets @ a crazy price. In the end, some of those tickets don't sell and they cut their losses. Seen a few "sold out" shows wirh several rows empty because somebody bought all the tickets in a row to just to resell.....
Anaheim ducks for example - you will find whole rows for sale, same row and seat, for all 40 some home games.
And :flamewar: Adele is garbage. Gf has it on loop and brings the cd to every car we take. Can't take much more
Edit: I have no problem paying 150$ for a 150$ face value ticket for a show I want to see from the point of sale. Just not 150$ for a 35$ face value ticket on stub hub

Maybe I am actually too old (early 40's) but I cannot fathom paying $100+ for any live show, and this is from a guy who keeps annual passes to Disneyworld for his wife and kids. Seriously, what could possibly be so entertaining about a live concert that would make it worth that kind of money? I'd rather spend $30 and see a small venue show without all the BS and light shows and just enjoy an artist make music.
Sorry you couldn't get the tickets.
That being said I have to admit not going to a live concert in a long, long time. But I doubt I paid over $20 to see the likes of the Doors, the Band, Dylan, etc when I used to go to them.
Better yet were the small venues that ranged from free to $7.00 where I saw up & coming bands like the Who, Kinks, etc in the Chicago area when I was a kid.

A happy wife is a happy life. Been to many concerts just for my wife. Personally I'm a 70's and eighties guy. Agreed, Adele has a beautiful voice but not on my top ten list.
Actually, you're not old enough...I think back in the day you may have enjoyed the Rolling Stones, Rush, ELO, Freddy Mercury, Metallica, Jethro Tull with Ian Anderson, Pink Floyd... in concert. The stage was alive back then with the greatest laser light technology, pyrotechnics, and other extravagant theatrics along with some ground breaking musicians. I loved concerts back in the day. It's not the same anymore, and I rarely go to concerts the way I used to. The bang for the buck just isn't the same.

Those days still have not left us!
Seen shows for 20 or less at the fonda, palladium, rainbow, trubador and my personal favorite, the roxy. Still has burn marks in the ceiling tiles from illigal pyrotechnics from the 60's and 70's- with 50 people or less THAT'S A SHOW
Saw blind pilot play half the show, much to the dismay of the sound guy, completely unplugged and no mic. That takes quite a bit of talent to sound just as good. It's a completely different expirence when you can reach out a hand the man a drink on stage
Not a fan at all of huge venues but sometimes that's the only way to see some of the artists now

Thanks. I wish I could for my wife. I'll have to find another musician she likes or go on another cruise or something. No doubt, great bands!! Yea, I didn't pay the money they ask for tickets nowadays either, but putting it in perspective the median salary back then was under 20K a year and gas was about .29 a gallon. It was also pretty darn difficult to illegally download music from vinyl. Times sure do change. haha
No arguing that! IIRC I was making 12k/year and felt rich. Then time past and things like house buying & kids came along.
No downloading music but bootleg albums did exist.
I'm sure you can find something to substitute for Adele, not my style but my wife loves her music and bought her latest album. I have to admit that she's damn good.

I used to have a bootleg Janis Joplin 8 track I bought at a head shop for about $5. It was from a concert; not a bootlegged album. They sold tons of bootlegged 8 tracks back then with little over site. I wish I still had it for the historic factor.
I just had to order the Adele CD for a Christmas gift. Ugh. Lots of elevator music in my near future.
She has a great voice but sings maudlin songs.

.I haven't heard anything other than what's played on the radio but maudlin sounds about right.
I suppose I'll be hearing 25 one of these days but encouraged my wife to put the CD in her car.

I tried to sit thru the first 20 minutes of a Josh Groban concert for the wife.
I knew things were bad when some dude tapped my shoulder pre-concert as I was listening to music on my phone. He asked what Josh Groban song I was listening to? I showed him my phone and the Cannibal Corpse song.
I said , wow you really are here to listen to this guy? He had a shocked look as he looked at his wife. I then said secondly don't ever touch me again I don't like guys touching me .
When I went to go wazz, I realized I was the only guy wearing a pro gun t-shirt among the "well dressed fellas". My spidey sense went into overdrive.
Never again did we attend the same concert. Our music tastes are vastly different.
