Adio3x's Build/Pic thread.

Alrighty, sorry for the late response, I was waiting for the PRG to come in.

After having the new style Safari Snorkel topper on, I would have to say I like it the best out of the 3. Although it weighs like 3lbs, super heavy duty.

Can you list the part number for the Safari.

adio3x I noticed you switched from 295/70's to 285/75's. How is this change? Do you like it way better? Is there any rubbing with the added inch or so. Sorry to come out of left field here but I am currently running 295's and I am considering the same switch. Thanks

Yo! Sorry for the late response, I've been in South Korea for the past 20ish days, for some reason this site wouldn't work over there haha.

I love the change, I like having a taller tire opposed to the wider tire. I'll probably never go to another size unless I want to run a 35 someday. There's a little bit of rubbing at full lock in reverse, I still haven't been able to hammer it out, but I know where it's making contact.

I'll be throwing on the 285/75 soon too. It's a shame there are only like three tire choices to choose from. I so wish the Duratracs were made in that size. Really bummed to be getting rid of them.

Welcome back stateside brother! Can't wait to see you in Texas! Buying my lift tomorrow!

Thanks for the reply. I have already made the switch, I agree the 295's are a bit too wide. I am digging the new size and tire I switched to

Just a quick update!

Went to the FJ Jamboree a few weekends ago. I had a blast wheeling with all those FJ guys, the park was pretty cool too. It was very tight in most spots, ended up getting a whole lot of rock rash on the new wheels and unseating a tire, luckily it reseated as I put more air in.

Limb risers did a great job!

So I got home and was unhappy with the situation that happened to my tires. Got a great deal on some 295/70/17 Nitto Trail Grapplers. Fit so much better, only bad thing is they rub pretty hardcore in the front. I may end up trimming a little of the rear fender and doing the BMC upfront.

And finally this! I got bored with the lightforces, great output, but not as great as these.............

Ok I'm done for now. See you next summer when the TRD supercharger is suppose to come out :hello:

Resurrecting the dead but was wondering if you had to regear going with the 295/70/17 route?

I love the look!

Thanks! I've never re-geared and now I'm running 285/75/17 trail grapplers, it's on my to do list. But I've never had an issue with the gearing and the weight, yes it feels like a cadillac, and it has a hard time finding gears at times, but I'm used to it. I can still pass up Prius-s in the fast lane with a little more skinny pedal all day. :)

cbielat - What do you mean by the "three tire choices to choose from"? I have no yet looked into replacements for '14 limited but I am curious now. Less choices can be a good thing sometimes...

There's not a large variety for 285/75, unlike the 285/70.

You can choose from the km2 & nitto trail/terra/durra grapplers, that's it.

The MTRs in 305 are also an option. I really like them so far, although I can't imagine running them with stock gearing. I noticed a big difference turning them compared to my 285 Duratracks. I lost another 1 mpg or so. Down around 14 in town now. Sucks fuel pretty bad, but whatever. I'm not really trying to conserve fuel with this thing. I don't drive it everyday...If I was, I would stick with the 285/70 or possibly the k02 pizza cutter.

I thought I recognized this 4Runner, I see it from time to time out by my office still, though it's been awhile and was wondering if it was still around. Pretty cool build and I like what you've done to it man

I've been on a forum hiatus, but I'm still around!! Where's your office at?
