I've been MIA from the forums lately, been working a ton on my new toy.

So I'll just make a timeline of things that have happened.

-Got a Tepui Ayer last September. Perfect size and weighs less than 80 lbs.



Frenchies love it.



-Replaced my shatty bilstein 5160s after a fight with toytec/bilstein, decided to go with Metaltech Icon 2.0 LT shocks with MT LT progressive springs. I like this setup, but I like the ride a bit better of my old 896s.






-2014 tails & 285/75/17 Nitto trail grapplers



-Toyota Lone Star Jamboree, always a blast!



-Picked up my new toy! 2014 Honda Grom



-Tacomaworld Anti-Dark Group Buy



-How my Grom sits after owning it for 2 months. I might love this thing more than my 4runner :wow2:



-Going wheeling this weekend, starting to plan another big trip out west for 2016. I really want to do the Kokopelli Trail - starting in Colorado and ending in Moab. ARB rear locker, new compressor, dual battery & the ARB kegerator with tap drilled into the hatch is on my to do list lol.

Super impressed by how well its been holding. Besides a few battle wounds that can easily be touched up, overall it's holding up very well!

Those were my 3rd set. Probably got about 20k out of each set. Word of caution, get extended bump stops if you want to run those 5160s. Toytec stopped honoring my warranty after the guy that I had been working with left after the 3rd year. Told me to talk to Bilstein and they were saying it was installed incorrectly, which is BS.

I used to work right around 270/Olive behind the TGIFriday's, but have since moved onto a new company that's closer to Olive/Lindburgh. I'm also some of the local forums, like STLSR, which is where I recognized your truck from as well.

I had inquired about getting bumpstops along with these but almost everyone said I didn't need them. Which one did u go with?

I never had bumpstops on while I had the 5160s on, which was my first mistake. I put them through the ringer, very harsh desert bombing in utah & very flexy off cambered rock crawling & the shocks kept bottoming out and spewing oil. I would get either a 2" or 3" metaltech bumpstop, I have the 3" right now with my icons.

Yea, I thought I remembered you lived in the area. And yea, it still exists, but it's a ghost town; very few posts anymore. Most of the local forums are dead it seems.

Are you still rubbing at 285/75/17?

Really trying to find the perfect/biggest tire size I can go with before I have issues with rubbing. Don't plan to put UCA's in, probably only do a 2" MAX lift in front and whatever that keeps even in the back.

those new 255/80 pizza cutters are cool as shit. id get those in the cooper STT Maxx's if it were me. that would be a big tire size that is narrow enough to avoid issues with contact

255/80's!? Maybe I'm assuming to much before seeing a picture of stance, but I can't imagine I'd like the "Pizza cutters" lol. Hmmm now you got me curious, I'm gonna look around. Wouldn't the 80 still require some light modifications underneath to clear like liners and such? I've also been referring back and forth to 1engineers fitment guide as a reference.

255/80's!? Maybe I'm assuming to much before seeing a picture of stance, but I can't imagine I'd like the "Pizza cutters" lol. Hmmm now you got me curious, I'm gonna look around. Wouldn't the 80 still require some light modifications underneath to clear like liners and such? I've also been referring back and forth to 1engineers fitment guide as a reference.

Mine fit by moving the liner forward a little and removing the mud guards.

255/80s are 33/10s you'll have to shift the fender liner for sure, possibly even cut. but you shouldnt have to do a BMC

I do. Very happy with them. I'm sure I'd be happy with the performance of the 285s as well but I didn't want to have to worry about clearance. These wheels/tires carried over from my 4th gen as they were brand new when I traded up to my 2014 so they were really bought with a 4th gen's fitment in mind. If I had the 5th gen to begin with, probably would have gone with 285s just because they look better IMO on the 5th.
