Adjust Sensitivity of Auto-Headlights

I swear that I read somewhere that the dealer could adjust the sensitivity of the headlights to come on when it is a little brighter outside than night (such as dusk, thunderstorms, etc.). My dealer here says it can't be done. Has anyone actually had this done on their 4th gen Runner?

Not a huge deal, but more of a a pet peeve of mine that I have to constantly fuss with turning them on and off in these conditions, and I don't want them on 24/7.

Although I haven't had it done, I can tell you the dealer is wrong.

This is one of the customizable body electronic, or C-BEST, settings.

Setting Name: SENSITIVITY
Options: LIGHT 2, LIGHT 1, NORMAL (default), DARK 1, DARK 2
Adjusts the sensitivity of the of the light sensor for turning on the headlights.

I'm not sure if changing it to LIGHT makes them more or less sensitive. I would bet that LIGHT 1 and LIGHT 2 make them come on sooner, and DARK 1 and DARK 2 make them come on later.

This has been in the book since 2003.

You definitely could. The dealer has to do it through the computer in your truck, but they may charge you. I feel that the factory settings are not sensitive enough.

Thanks. Apparently I just need to find a dealer who has a clue first in order to get it done. I'll let you all know the outcome and charge for anyone who is interested.
