Advice Needed - E7008 Nav to Pioneer AVIC-Z130BT

I'm considering changing out my stock Toyota E7008 Nav and installing something like the Pioneer AVIC-Z130BT. I've seen (and read) the threads on where folks have had issues with various kits installing the AVIC-Z130BT, but I haven't seen a thread where someone has replaced the E7008 Nav with a AVIC-Z130BT. Has anyone performed this upgrade/swap? If so, will the existing GPS antenna and backup camera work with the AVIC-Z130BT?

If the AVIC-Z130BT is not a direct fit with the new faceplate kit then what do you all recommend? I'd like the unit I install to have better functionality than the E7008 as well as better ipod/iphone integration.

I can't speak for the E7808 Nav, but I did replace my Urban Runner TomTom nav with the AVIC-Z120. The OEM GPS antenna had a different connector than the AVIC would accept, so no go. As for fit up with a dash kit, it looks great with the factory Urban Runner Trim Ring. Try a search for "Urban Runner trim ring" for some pics. Photos of my install in the link below. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info! where did you place the new gps antenna?

Do you know if the Toyota Tom Tom unit you replaced use the factory JBL amp or was it powered in the head unit? The E7008 uses the JBL amp and connections, so I'm hoping the AVIC unit will be as direct a replacement (other than the trim ring) as possible.

1. My new GPS and XM antenna are sitting on my dash passenger side and get great reception.

2. No amp for the TomTom system, so you'll need an amp interface harness.

If you plan to keep your steering wheel controls, you will need a PAC SWI-PS adapter.

My advice, give the folks at Crutchfield a call, they can get you everything you need for a successful install. There is also a TON of info on this site, just search around a little bit and you will probably find everything you need.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've checked Crutchfield online for parts and such. I'll give them a call when I get serious. I was hoping someone on the forum had direct experience in replacing the stock Toyota/JBL E7008 Nav with the AVIC unit.
