Advice on Lift

Hey all,

So I just bought my 2014 TE 4Runner this past Monday and I want to get rid of that terrible rake in the front. I am looking to get shocks in the front that will level the truck out, while I avoid having to get UCA's. But I do want a smooth ride, I do not want to get stuck with a terribly stiff ride, as I drive a lot of highway miles for my commute to school ad such. I have had Bilstein 5100's on my 08 Tacoma that I used to have, and I remember those being on the stiffer side, but I do not know if that would be the case with the 4runner. I was looking at possibly getting the 5100's and joining them with OME coils? What are some other options that can level the truck out and offer smooth ride?

I'm pretty sure any aftermarket spring or shock is going to stiffen up the ride.
If you want to just reduce the rake and keep the ride the same - I'd get a 1" top mount spacer and then quit browsing around this forum before you end up with a $2000+ suspension.

Save yourself the trouble and just go with a real coilover set up to begin with. From what I've researched, the Icons seem to give a good on road feel. Personally, I like a stiffer ride(and that's what she said lol). Valving can also play a role as well. You can always ask whichever company if you would be able to get a lower spring rate. I run Radflo which uses an Eibach spring and there are multiple spring rates you can opt for when purchasing.
