Advise in changing the long side axle shaft on ifs from ADD to non ADD

Hey all I scored a v6 8" factory 4.88 rear and a 7.5 4.88 front. I dropped in the the rear( works great ). Now I want to put the front in my 87 t4r also. I've seen some wright ups on this swap just would like any 1st hand advise if someone has done it. Thanks in advance

Its not hard at all, just make sure you have the correct seals before hand.

You could also lock the slide collar in the ADD tube with a hose clamp, and add fluid capacity to your front diff and then you dont have to change anything out.

Thanks for the breakdowns. I did read a lot of stuff about just disabling the add but I want to switch it out. Thanks to FOG also.

Just one last post for this. If anyone is thinking of doing the non ADD axle tube and axle swap it is very easy and is ( in my option ) a better way then disabling the ADD system.

I swapped in a G144 front axle out of a '93 into my 4rnr. Got rid of the ADD and swapped on my axle. All u need is the Timken axle seal P/N: 710419 and you're good to go.
