After Daystar/FJ Spring lift question

Finally finished my Daystar 2.5/1.5 today with FJ coils and springs all the way around. Now that it's finished, I am sitting way ass high. Has this happened to anybody else? I'm hoping the rear coils settle in a bit and it levels out. If not, I may put the stock coils back in and leave the spacers

wow! thats a lot higher than i anticipated an FJ rear set up being. What if you take the spacers off the rear of the FJ springs?

What year fj did the springs come off of? I have seen a few stock ones locally with super high rears. Not sure why.

You other option is to keep a hooker in the back. Never know when you need a little something-something during your travels. Should help level it off.

Stock shocks are still in. Here are the measurements, beofre lift and tires and after lift and tires:

LF 33 1/2 37
RF 33 1/4 37 1/8
LR 35 3/4 40 1/2
RR 36 40 3/4

Something is off here.....I don't think I've ever seen one sit like that. Are you 100% certain the rear coils are stock FJ's? Are the coils seated properly in the lower mount? The front FJ coils typically lift more than the rear, so I would expect less rake than you'd see with just the Daystar 2.5/1.5 kit.

Dude told me that they were off a stock 2008 FJ. And yeah, we double checked everything, everything is tight and seated properly I'm not sure which route to go, stock coils with the spacers or FJ coils with no spacers. I'm open to suggestions? I'm not 100% happy with how it's sitting

I believe fj springs are like 10-15% stiffer than 4runners so if you like it a little stiffer i would go with fj no spacer. If you like it ride like stock then go stock with spacer

+1.

I still don't understand how it could be sitting that high. Could you take some pics of the rear coils installed?

I think I'm going to go with the FJ spring and no spacer. You think it will level out better?

Yeah dude, I'll get some and post them some time tomorrow. I really didn't expect a rake like this at all

Also, here's a picture of the difference between the stock coils and the FJ coils. Much different than I thought they would be

Wow, are you sure those are stock FJ coils? I just did mine using FJ coils on all 4 with bil's at max in front and with a 1.5 in spacer in the rear and got like about 4'" front and only 2.5" rear and it leveled mine out perfectly. My rear FJ coils looked nothing like the ones in your picture, they looked very similar to the stock 4r ones.

I do not believe that spring is from an FJ cruiser. Here's a pix of a 2007 FJ cruiser rear spring I recently bought. I counted the number of loops and it's only approximately 5.5 times. Yours is much more. Here's a pix of mine.

Just checked my #'s and after install I am at 36 3/4" and 37 1/4" in the rear, which is no where close to the 40 inches you are getting.

I personally would consider this a plus as in free upgrade to higher rate rear springs and get a pair/set of 5100s up front and loose the spacers all together.

I've heard of this happening to another user who thought they bought a set of used FJ springs and ended up with a pair of better rear aftermarket springs.

As said....those most definitely aren't the stock FJ coils. They have more wraps than any of the OME coils. I couldn't find any pics by doing a quick search of the All Pro 3.5" coils, but I really believe that may be what you have. Visually comparing the coil to stock plus your lift height you gained, the All Pro 3.5's is my best guess as to what they might be.

If I'm right, you really will need longer rear shocks as I'd expect the stock ones to bottom out easily. Even 5100's are really too short to be used with those coils (they would work, but not ideal). You'd also need extended brake lines to be safe.

It depends on your goals, but best bet is probably going to be using stock coils with the spacer. You can do some research to try to figure out what rear coils those are and maybe re-sell them for a good profit.

The all pro coils have all pro 3.5 in white on them. And you can use 5100 just have to be extended tacoma ones. Thats what im running in the rear. I think i have a pic of the rear stock vs the all pro 3.5 ill see if i can find it on my phone.

I agree if they are another brand of aftermarket i would sell them for profit or just use them and get longer shocks and upgrade the front to some 5100 also

Here is a crappy pic of stock vs 3.5 all pro coils

Those arent 3.5 he has now looking at the pics. His coils have more wraps.
