Aftermarker Radio Signal

I know this is asked alot, but through all my searching I still cannot find an answer. I am getting my parents 05 as soon as I get my licence. So now I am in the process of making it my own. I put a new radio in a few weeks back and the radio signal was horrid. So I went to google and found out that I needed a Y adapter and the adapter that makes the smaller plug bigger, so I bought them.

Welp needless to say, still the radio signal is horrible. Is there something else I need to do/get/try? Most people say the adapter helps them so havent been able to get another solution to attempt

Here are the pics from the install.

Here is the y splitter and antenna plug adapter to make sure that BOTH antennas are plugged into the back of the radio, on newer radios they only have one antenna plug and you can't use the 2 4runner antenas so the radio reception sucks, with this y adapter it works like factory. Get one, period.

what aftermarket radio is installed now? if there are 2 blue wires on the radio, one for amp remote and one for antenna, use the amp remote, its a stronger trigger, i had that problem when i did a radio from kenwood.

I've had the same damned problem with my Sony Nav head unit. I had already installed the y adapter, but was not aware of the antenna amp located in the rear pillar. I'm going to have to yank my head unit when I have the dealer install the new dash. Does anyone know the color of the antenna amp power wire on the OEM harness, behind the stereo? Does anyone have a photo of the antenna amp? Now I'm starting to wonder if I accidentally removed it when I was dismantling my JBL system.

I have a Kenwood KDC152. I have an amp hooked up to the remote amp turn on wire. I plan on double checking all the connections today, and then I will go from that point

I bought and installed these already and the signal is still bad, I took the wiring harnesses out and am currently rewiring them to see if I just messed up in wiring.

I'm trying to recall of the top of my head from when I installed my deck.

I believe what I did was connect the antenna turn on from the truck directly to the switched power that turns on the radio. I also had issues with my antenna initially and I found that the amp turn on from the deck, wasn't triggering the truck's power antenna.

I'm gonna see if I can find a picture of my install/wiring.

use the amp turn on for the radio antenna and see if that works, or you can use the radio to an acc red wire and itll work.
