Its something different. They are on all/most SUVs over in Japan. When they import them used to south america, they keep the mirror on. It's subjective, I personally think brushguards look/are wierd. They add TONS of weight, add lots of wind resistance, they rust, etc etc. Now, if they are actually in use for off road situations, then they are fine. I have one on my Grand Cherokee and regretted it the second day I had it.......This is my opinion.
I know, I had 2 of them (see my sig). In Peru, they modify the dashboard/steering to make it a LEFT hand drive. So yeah, you are correct, the mirror would be opposite of the drivers side. When I had my surfs, the mirror stayed and yes, didn't have a real purpose but I thought it looked cool...MUCH better looking than a brushguard !!!:zoom:
Haha cool man! Whatever you're into. Personally I'd like a big bumper AND the mirror. But I'm just going to stick with the one that gets me more girls (hey, I'm in college). Weird that they modify the cars to LHD. I guess because they drive on the right side of the road there? In Guyana, they leave them RHD, but that could be because they drive backwards there too
