Aftermarket Stereo

Deck Power Issue

Has anyone had an issue with a aftermarket deck randomly power cycling. I just upgrade to a JVC KW-V830BT, I've gotten everything else working, steering wheel controls back up camera. I am thinking a better power source then the factory harness might be needed. Any help would be appreciated.

The OEM power source is just fine. You try updating firmware?

Loose connection?

I had the same deck in my 4runner for 3 months, no issue with a Maestro harness using stock wiring. I updated the firmware right after the install.
Recently moved it into my GF's Solara.

Is your wiring harness adapter soldered or put together with crimps? Most of the time I read about a problem like this, it's because of a bad crimp or use of quick splices.

Yeah we used crimps, was what I was thinking just had it rebooting again today. Got this screen, now I am wondering if it could have something to do with ground wenput in place to allow DVDs to play while driving. Sorry for the bad pic.

This is a pretty easy thing to troubleshoot. Pull the stereo out and with it on, give the harness a jiggle and see if it causes a reboot. Even if it doesn't, I might suggest soldering the power and ground wires.
 
Thanks to everyone who has posted in this thread, it not only helped me with my install, but it also helped me decide what to get. I think I've read most, if not all, and completed some searches but can't find an answer to this question:

Was anyone able to find an adapter to use the OEM GPS antenna with an aftermarket HU? I have a 2012 LTD non JBL w/Nav. I know (or think I know) that the Maestro Acc-SAT-TO2 doesn't work for my vehicle, and I can't find anything else, or have missed in this thread, anything that adapts a GPS antenna. I have put in a AVIC-W6400NEX

I know I can just use the antenna that came with the HU but surely there is something out there I'm missing?
 
CarPlay reset on keying VHF radio

I thought this might be a useful place to ask this question. I recently installed Icom5021 radio in my Gen5 and each time I key the radio it resets my Pioneer audio deck that my phone is connected to via USB, disconnects CarPlay, etc. I’ve tried multiple fuses with my add-a-fuse and the same result persists. Any thoughts or other questions?
 
Recently had my aftermarket stereo stolen on my 19'. Anyone have any idea the part numbers for the 3 plastic parts that you transfer over to the metra dash kit from the oem?

The "above center vent trim piece" doesn't have a part number, Toyota does not sell that piece.. it only comes with a full head unit/center console replacement. I know because I stripped one of the screws changing out my OEM head unit for my Alpine Halo9. I went to the dealer and we looked it up. You'd have to find one off a junked 4runner or someone selling one. I scoured the internet looking for that piece, zero results.

As for the other two.. you are referring to the 2 center vents?

No the surround for the roller that opens and closes the vent. I was figuring I'd have to find a junk yard. :\
