ajohnson's 85 build

It is a National Forest, run by the Forest Service. Park Rangers don't go through the trails to keep people in-line. If the trail gets torn up, volunteers will go in and put up guard rails which looks horrible IMO, or they will just close the trail.

Yep and I don't know if you noticed the new illegal bypass for the first ledge of Daniel. Made by dirt bikes and ATV's.....drives me nuts

We get a lot of yahoos that like to go offtrail on Forest Service and BLM land around here - side by sides are the worst, but 4x4s and dirt bikes do their fair share.

I like to talk to them when I can, sometimes they truly don't know something is offtrail or understand the consequences. If they end up being jerks, I like to take pictures. I've turned a couple guys into the Forest Service for being complete jackasses, I know at least one of them got a hefty fine too.

Peer pressure is a beautiful thing.

Same where we are. When I can talk with them I stress the point that if they go off trail keep in mind that the envior-nazis are itching for any chance to close down all public lands to OHV use. Hell - if they had their way they would close down ALL public lands to human use.

But you're right - there will always be some who just don't give a damn - and a camera/video recorder is your best friend.

Yes it sucks when you have those jerks who don't give a damn. We got these guys on camera, but not while off trail. It might not help any to turn the pics in. But luckily there are some great volunteers at Uwharrie that maintain the trail, maintain and build illegal bypass block-offs.

Well I realized the hard way that the stock size battery just can't keep up with all my gadgets. I went to Sears today and picked up a Diehard Platinum 31m (marine) battery. This thing is huge but fits without any trouble, besides lifting and setting it into place

beautiful pics man!
can't count the number of jeeps i've see on the trail with broken u-joints haha

Thanks, credit to Eltacorojo from TW.

It was so funny. I was down the trail talking with a guy and we heard "vrooooom vrooooooom vrooooooooooooooom POP". We knew what it was and LOLed.

I gave the hoerunner a bath yesterday. This is the first time I have really washed it in a year.

Today I took off the water pump. I am going to replace the gasket and put sealant around the bolts so I will hopefully stop leaking oil. I also ordered a PCV valve, grommet, and hose but I am waiting on those so I put my Addicted bumper on. I'm picking up a new winch tomorrow and I can get the front back together.

Great minds think alike, except your top comes off naturally. Mine required a saw zaw.

Are you keep the exterior armor on?

I am going to leave the front fender bars off. The rear fender bars get a lot of use so I am keeping them for now.
