Slowly making progress. I cut the motor mounts with my grinder and cut off wheel. Got one side ground down and hit with a flap wheel. Should have it smooth by Sunday night.

Hoping to start on the rear next week. Parts are on the way from LROR, and a Doug Thorley header from Summit.

Dude you shoulda went with LCE lol I voted for your pile. I've got a LROR package waiting on me. Did you know they sell a breather relocation kit?

I went with the thorley cause it was cheapest, with free shipping from summit. And supposedly gives better bottom-end gains with the 4-2-1 design. When I slap a new intake together and get the exhaust redone, hopefully I'll see some decent gains.
 
Interested in seeing how the battery tray works for you also. I an considering getting one for my pickup for my dual batt setup. Looks like your making decent progress. Faster progress than the SAS that Ive been working on. Ive only been able to work on it one day a week.

I'll give it a test fit as soon as it shows up. I already removed the air box to pull the steering box.

My progress feels so slow, and I am absolutely sick of grinding. I still need to hit the bottom of the frame on each side. I worked 73 hours last week so my spare time is very limited right now. I'm scratching my Memorial Day weekend deadline. I will kill myself trying to have it ready by then.

Ha, it can't be any slower than the progress we been having on the taco SAS. We have been working on the thing for about 3 months now. First couple of months were slow though since it was mostly body work and cutting all the old IFS stuff out and makign sure the frame is straight. Truck was involved in a VERY bad front end collision and basically the whole front clip had to be replaced. I think the worse part of the SAS was frenching int he shackle hangers and cutting/grinding off the old IFS stuff. Looks like you got the grinding and cutting part done. Welding is pretty easy. Not to thread jack but heres a teaser of what Ive been working on. Im sure the owner will post a build thread on tacomaworld once we finish it.

 
Nice! I was gonna ask for some pics of the project. Is that ttran from TW? I think he showed a pic of this a couple weeks ago.

I still have some grinding left up front. I didn't realize what a b***h it would be.

Yep that's Tim's (ttran) Taco from TW. We went to school together and go to the same college now. I've been helping him do the SAS and bodywork on it the past few months. Its shaping up nicely. The lift itself is done. Just need to do the rear lift now and set the steering up. Hes planning on doing a build thread soon on TW.

Yea the grinding part is the worse of it. We went through 3 flap discs and a few grinding discs. I think the 80s era rust coating is a lot worse than the coating on the 01 taco though. Atleast the one on my pickup was aweful. It was like damn glue and I ate up 4 discs per frame rail.
