All 2010 4runners delayed to dealers until 2010

Well great news.

Apparently all 2010 4runners are being delayed at port and will not reach dealers for sale until 2010. The problem? They could not find a manufacturer to produce the 7-pin/4-pin hitch adapters in time but they are listed on the Maroni stickers. Toyota is concerned that they will be open to a lawsuit if they sell the vehicles with this listed on the stickers but not included.

What a freaking PITA. So, since I needed my vehicle by November 20, what should I get now? The 2010 SUV of the year Outback?

For dealer training. None have yet to show up at any dealers with Maroni stickers prepared or sale. And apparently now none will until 2010.

Just buy a used one with a extended warrenty lift it and new bumpers and sliders and make it way cooler then a new one for less money:naughty: Thats just my 2cents

Over 2 months of potential sales down the drain for a hitch adapter? Does not make sense. I would think there would be a legal way around it.

There are several dealers around here that have one or two in stock, according to their websites.

This almost seems like something that Brooklyn guy would post.

Have you phoned any of them yet? Because I've done enough leg work to figure out that the Toyota inventory site doesn't match dealer lots one bit.

There are supposed to be 7 Trail Editions at World Toyota in Atlanta alone and I spoke with two different people there, including a manager, and they are showing that they won't be getting any Trail Editions until next year at best.

So your salesperson/manager is inventing excuses as to why you won't get your truck anytime soon. They will do anything for a sale dude.

Just got a phone call from World Toyota in Atlanta. Apparently this re****ed problem is legitimate.

If anyone can find me a Trail Edition available for pick up by November 15, I will pay you a $500 finder fee. PM me because I'm serious.

Go to www.toyota.com and click to "build your own" 2010 4runner. Enter the zipcode 30340. You will find 7 Trial Editions listed at World Toyota. Now call and tell World Toyota that they have 7 of them and then call them liars when they say they can't find them.

I got an email from my dealer today who had told me they were getting one in 11/3 (a presold Limited), to say that inventory has been pushed back to late November.

Toyota has sure made a royal mess of this new model - Highly controversial styling, decontented specs, cheapened materials, no major car show release and now delayed introduction and failed promises.

Why wouldn't you just go directly to the World Toyota website and check their inventory that way? I don't see any 2010 4Runners listed on their site at all.

I talked to the Sales Manager today(2pm) at a dealer where I bought my last 4runner here in Ft.Worth today. 36 Trail ED'S are to be delivered to the Gulf States region dealers(5 state region including Texas) on the week of 11/23/09 and he showed me a print out from his computer. No mention of being held up in port??? I'll call and ask him tomorrow to find out for sure. BTW the Trail Editions don't come in gray like 4funner supposedly bought.Only Silver ,Black, Red and Blue.
