Gonna fixing my 4runner to be a daily driver. I want a tire that is gonna perform an wear well on the street but all do good in mud and on trails. What do you guys think. What brand an modle tire how much use did you get out of them how did the tread wear? Thanks for any opinions.

My vote is for BFG a/t. They come factory on some trucks(Ford raptor, TRD FJ cruiser). Add the fact that they are snow rated, and should give you a solid 50k mile tread life. I love mine. Have a set on my 96, going to get a set for my 04 at the end of summer, and I hope to get a set for my ford superduty by the end of the year. They are a great tire.

My favorites are the Toyo Open Country, BFG AT and Nitto Terra Grapplers.
I'm running the BFG AT's right now and they are great on road, and really good in the desert. Not great on rocks, but get the job done.

I like my BFG all terrains. I have 52,000 miles on mine and they have performed great. I think I'll get another 10,000 miles out of them.

I've never owned a set of general grabber at's but I would imagine they are similiar to the three already mentioned. I know they are cheaper than bfg's and comparable to the toyos/nittos.

+1 with the Geolanders, unless you will be hitting the trails more than once a week, then look into the Nittos TGs.

thinking about going with toyo open country a/t's myself, price is a good bit cheaper from what i've found, and they look cool

Surprised nobody has mentioned Goodyear Duratracs yet. Had them on my '99 and loved them. I have also been impressed with the Hankook DynaPro ATM's.
This is what I use and they are QUIET and do good off road. I am not sure about tread wear but it looks ok so far.

I have duratracks on mine and love them. Quieter than any other ones I've had and I'm going to get over 60k out them. Everyone said to get Revos so I bought those before the duratracks and they were crap in the snow. They looked aggressive but they really weren't.
