The Drawer Plans are finally out!
After many efforts and delays, I am happy to announce to everyone that the drawer plans are finally out! :whoo:

This is a modular system designed for use in the 4th gen 4Runner that I built for myself. This means if someone wants to build just one part of the 4 part system, they should be able to.

My motivations for making this free are a direct result of the community. I have won t4r 4runner of the month in the past, I have met many people at local meets, and have have always had so many questions answered all for free. So, this is my way of saying thanks.

Use it for tailgating, use it to carry your guns, camping gear, spare parts, or even kid's toys. Whatever makes you happy.

To get the plans, simply go to the website, add all of the items to the cart and checkout. It'll be $0.00 and you'll get a link in your email to download.

To order the parts, the list is on the website with amazon links.

Howdy all...Been more of a lurker on this forum and less of a participant. I am an industrial designer and a "tinkerer" of sorts. I love designing and building things or even improving others.

Camping has been a passion of mine since I was a kid. I am now getting more and more into the overlanding concept and hope to head westward this spring.

My latest project is #3 in the world of camping - A completely customized & outfitted off road / overland trailer

Front hitch ?

Is this considered overlanding? I like an inside toilet, big fresh water tank, furnace, big fridge/freezer, etc. That red mutt does pretty good offroad. 11" ground clearance. Of course turning around can be a problem, had to reverse out of that spot about a half mile.

Ever think about getting a front mounted hitch ? I had one on and old truck and it was great, plus the other obvious benefits of cooler and rod holder for beach, winch etc

Setting up my rig to be an Overland capable vehicle. I mostly just enjoy exploring and would much rather take the longer route through the woods if I can

That's a really impressive build. Very well thought-out, perfect size for our North GA trails, and beautiful craftsmanship. I'm totally geeking out on it.

04 adventure 2nd battery addition.

Hey guys, has anyone added a 2nd battery for accessories? I am going to add a 90AH deep cycle and am stuck between solar panel charging on the hood for it or an isolator off of the alternator. The 2nd battery is going on the pass side engine bay. Solar costs more, but not sure if the stock alternator will handle 2 batteries. Any suggestions are welcome, thanks.

Ground tents

For those of us who choose to do the ground tent option, has anyone tried the Cinch Pop-up tent? Supposedly quick to setup & take-down.

I learned about them after I had already purchased an REI Basecamp 6. The Basecamp has held up extremely well in some very nasty weather, just takes a bit of time to setup/take-down.

Very easy up tents are tunnel tents. A plus for tunnel tents is that it can be raised during rain and you can still sleep in a dry environment.

I have for family camping a Coleman Cabral 5: https://www.outdoorworlddirect.co.uk/coleman-cabral-5-tent.html.

There are several other options, in general these tents are not too cheap, they are weather resistant and easy to set up (it takes me 1/2h to fully raise my Cabral 5).

OzTent. literally 5-7 seconds. And it can handle intense weather. Can put up in a rain storm in no time

With the price to boot. Plus, they don't have decent ventilation if you live in a hot/humid climate.

I live in AZ. and with 2 top vents, two large side windows, the front screen, and the back it’s plenty. Plus the rain fly is white on top and works quite well at keeping things cooler.
