Alloy Wheel locks on T4R 2011 LE -required or no?

Hi Guys,
Do all of you think that the alloy wheels locks is a must include option when I buy the T4R LE that I am looking for? Do all of you have these?
Do let me know.

depends what sort of neighborhood you live in.

I personally have had back luck with those locks breaking and don't see the value in them. They are pretty easy to get around and not worth the hassle. That is only opinion though.

I actually live in a very safe area. If those locks are easy to get around- then may be I should keep the $80 or so in my pocket and possibly get better after-market ones if they are available and if I deem neccessary later?

What a big PITA if you ever misplace the special wrench. Did that once, won't have them again. That's what ins. is for.

The Honda dealer where we got my wife's car adds wheel locks to every new car on their lot and wants an extra $100 for them. Wheel thefts are pretty rare in my area so I told them to take them off. Can always add them later if you feel it's necessary.

Dealers that "pack" stuff like this really pi$$ me off. They know that 90% of the customers won't balk. Window etching, pin stripes, all the alltime favorite "paint protection"..... yada yada. I'd make 'em take that stuff off on principle alone. :dammit:

I have broken 2 of these special wheel locks in the past. Never again.... The problem is dealers put them on with Air Guns. You on the side of the road will be using a little bittie bar to get them off. Additionally, the bar never applies torque evenly (usually just to one side) cause the wheel lock (lug) to sheer the top off. Now you will really have a hard time getting it off.

Alright- so no wheel locks then.
Philsey- I agree- I hate all the stuff that dealers put on and then say- well you have to buy it because the truck came with it!
I decided to avoid all of that- got him to take everything off except for the stupid $204 cargo mats!!! He would not agree to that for some reason. I hate that- but given that he gave me such a good price on the vehicle- I figured- its not a big deal.

I have always had them. But, to be honest, the 4runner rims aren't exactly Ferrari rims...so, why waste money on it? I would save money for other stuff...like cargo mat or all-season mats, etc..

hate to revive an old thread like this but my wheels got stolen this past weekend so I will be getting these as precaution.
The area is not a horrible area and the complex has gated security cameras but not on every floor of the garage. Probably taken around 2-6am.
