Almost ready to buy new tires

Purchased my destinations from tirerack for $775 shipped to my house. And they only weight 44lbs, not bad for 285's!

The weight of those 285s is why I'm going with Firestones for my next tire. I have 255/75/17 (32.1) BFG MT right now and they weigh more than your tires. Casper, what mpg hit did you take from stock? I assume I won't take a hit at all if I switch. btw, your rig has been my inspiration man, perfect stance!

Thanks for the compliment! When it was stock, I was getting 18-20mpg's and now I'm at about 15-16 with winter gas. I'm hoping to get 17-18 from spring to fall. I get a bigger mpg hit when I mount my studded LT265/70/17.

Seriously? Tirerack says the 285's weigh 61lbs each! 285/70/17's, right?

BTW, these are excellent AT tires. My dad has been running these on his Tundra since he got it in 04. They do well in all terrains, just as an AT should. They are very quite and smooth. On more than one occasion I've regretted getting my Hankooks and not the Destination AT's. If you're not looking for something very aggressive, these are great.

BTW, these are excellent AT tires. My dad has been running these on his Tundra since he got it in 04. They do well in all terrains, just as an AT should. They are very quite and smooth. On more than one occasion I've regretted getting my Hankooks and not the Destination AT's. If you're not looking for something very aggressive, these are great.

Well, I ordered some spidertrax spacers a couple days ago. Got em today and threw them on. Also went ahead and removed the front mudflaps, since it sounds like I'll need to do that anyway.

I also went by the local firestone and confirmed that they have the tires in stock, and that they'll be willing to install them even with the spacers on. (Did that BEFORE I actually installed the spacers. LOL!)

They're even going to mount one first and make sure it will fit in the spare spot (since that's really the only thing I'm still unsure about) before they do the other 4.

So I think I'm pretty much on the path to do this. Might even go ahead with it tomorrow morning. Any final things I should know?
