I had a chance to buy a 1998 4runner with 85000 miles great condition 4x4 manual transmission about 2yrs ago
I did not buy it but I still think about it every day for 4200 dollars

Hmm...I think mine trumps yours...buy friend's ONE owner FULLY maintained 1998 SR5 V6 4x4 5-speed. Put new tires on it. Drive it for 3 months. Sell for "profit". As new owner is pulling away realize, I was a ****ing idiot and I won't find a truck like that again despite being a sell out. Spend next 8 months looking for anther 5-speed, find one that is similar condition but without the maintenance history and family values. Spend all I made off old truck in bringing this one back to enthusiast spec. In other words, it can work both ways!! The person offering that deal was the main **** up unless it was family/friend exchange in which case you did.
