Amazing...

Here's what I bought. Look like the real thing to me. Except that denso were advetised and asian supplied.

What do you think?

Like I originally said, even looking at my genuine original injectors and the fakes, side by side, they looked good. The fakes did have a skinnier red top o-ring, which it looks like they've learned was a tell. And on the eBay auction, the pics show the red o-rings.

Dunno, cheap knockoffs are usually made to sell at a profit even with the super duper unbleivable too-good-to-be-true pricing. Which means they're cutting corners somewhere. Certainly in quality control.

Who knows, you might get lucky. Like I said, when I tried an identical set of cheap eBay fakes on mine, they caused problems. Hard to start, hot or cold. Lots of cranking. And a somewhat uneven sounding idle. I emailed them and got this explanation:

Also, there is a small break in time when new injectors are installed. The car needs to be continuously driven at 60 mph for 30 minutes for the injectors to break in properly.
These could be the reasons for why you are experiencing these issues.
Which is BS, but sure, why not, I'll give it a go. I drove it more, the issues only got worse. Until I got a set of non-fake injectors off a junkyard 4Runner with 190K miles, and put them on. No more long cranks, smooth idle.

It's a PITA to get down to the injectors to swap them.

I'm not sure, of anything - lol - even that I'll be alive in the spring to change them! Until then, have fun and chilllll, baby, chillll :)

That we can agree on that you are not sure of anything..:D

I always have fun and mostly Calm. I don't believe in posting angry all that does is make the poster look silly.

You asking peoples opinions and what they think. Then get mad when they don't agree.. Isn't the best way toget solutions with your 3rd Gen 4 Runner problems. We just try to help. I don't think anyone on here means any malice towards another. However, we do tease each other. :D :pop2:

Dude, just buy and install the China injectors already. We all know you're going to, whether recommended against or not.
You've made it clear that you are willing to take the risk of having to redo the job if it turns out they are crap. And more power to you; that's totally fine.
You're willing to risk it and other people are not, end of story.

Be the guinea pig for the rest of the community. Prove us all wrong and you'll have a bunch of people apologizing and thanking you. We all want you to win with this because it's a win for us too.

Now to poke the bear (and keep this thread going because I'm just curious):
Why not pinpoint which injector is clicking (using the listening hose/stethoscope) and just replace it with a known brand/OEM, vs all 6?
I've had a single $90 AutoZone injector for the past 4 years and 80k miles because just the one broke and I needed one right now (no shipping, etc). That'll save you your money right there.
Or are they all clicking? (I may have missed it; I thought you just said 'hose near injectors' in general)

Yeah - they're all clicking. Some more than others, though.

This is a morning's job. I'll be the tester, come good weather. But not now - lol I'm allergic to being cold.
