America this week, what the hell?

Glad to see you edited your original post to include more justification of your comment which is exactly what was quoted by my post. Training and escalation of confrontation can always be tweaked. As for tangent, your is always posts by a closed mind. Happy Friday to you. BTW, Your quote of my post was selective, another example of a closed mind. :high5:

You know you have a good platform when you start attacking someones grammatical corrections. And thanks again for the solid counter of then calling me close minded. So any logical discussion would be appreciated and promote this thread as a whole. So continue on with the personal attacks as you delineate from the topic at hand. Sorry facts are hard, but heres a participation trophy as I'm sure you are into those

I definitely think the anti-police narrative behind the broad black lives matter movement is to blame for these attacks on LEOs.

In Oakland, CA they had protest last night that shut down the freeway, smashed windows, damaged cars and threw red paint on the police headquarters.

What does Oakland have to do with Minnesota? What does Dallas have to do with it? Nothing.

The idea behind the BLM movement is rotten to the core. Instead of protesting at the police headquarters they should be protesting outside the State Capitol. Police don't write the laws.

Oakland: Police brutality protestors shut down I-880 overnight, vandalize businesses - San Jose Mercury News

BLM has condemned this violence FYI. They're not the enemy.

Let's take the end results of the two African Americans killed and the assassination of the Dallas LEOs.......dead people, all American citizens. It's is important to look at how we got here and what to do about minimizing these killings from happening again, justified or unjustified. BTW, there was also a white unarmed teen killed by police in Cali this week. People have to be held accountable for their actions and perception is reality. My perception is different from someone else's, I can't begin to think what it must be like to be a LEO but I also can't begin to think what it is like to be an African American. Some of the fatal shootings by LEOs I think are a result of mind set and their training models, I get they want to go home at the end of their shifts but maybe the training model needs some tweaking when it comes to escalation.
what exactly are you saying here?

is it because you think they are in fear of being shot by police? or just in general, because you are not one?

BLM has condemned this violence FYI. They're not the enemy.
perhaps not in this instance, but yes overall I think they are.

Thought provoking, perhaps too academic for some.

PLOS ONE: A Multi-Level Bayesian Analysis of Racial Bias in Police Shootings at the County-Level in the United States, 2011?2014

"The results provide evidence of a significant bias in the killing of unarmed black Americans relative to unarmed white Americans, in that the probability of being {black, unarmed, and shot by police} is about 3.49 times the probability of being {white, unarmed, and shot by police} on average. Furthermore, the results of multi-level modeling show that there exists significant heterogeneity across counties in the extent of racial bias in police shootings, with some counties showing relative risk ratios of 20 to 1 or more. Finally, analysis of police shooting data as a function of county-level predictors suggests that racial bias in police shootings is most likely to emerge in police departments in larger metropolitan counties with low median incomes and a sizable portion of black residents, especially when there is high financial inequality in that county. There is no relationship between county-level racial bias in police shootings and crime rates (even race-specific crime rates), meaning that the racial bias observed in police shootings in this data set is not explainable as a response to local-level crime rates."

I saw that too.

I don't understand the mindset of shutting down freeways/interstates though. It happened last night in Atlanta for a brief period. What's the end game in that? Are they not getting enough attention with a regular ol peaceful protest so they have to interrupt business and leisure travel to further prove their point?

perhaps its a media issue, but I have not seen any peaceful protests associated with that group. though, I have heard of them shutting down roads/highways many times.

They are desperate acts for desperate times. I'm not condoning it, just the sliver of reason I see in it. It does nothing for their cause, it's sad.

Ahh, I see. BLM condemn the assassination of police officers in Dallas.

But when BLM march down highways chanting "Pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon!", that's ok.

Here's a little secret: there is a connection.

No dude, pretty sure they condemn that also. Believe what you will though, sounds like you're part of the problem. Good luck with that.

DALLAS - Organizers and supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement have condemned the slaying of police officers in Dallas during a protest against the fatal police shootings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota.

#BlackLivesMatter advocates dignity, justice and freedom. Not murder.

It is very respectful of BLM to put away their "Pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon" protest signs at this time.

Generalizations suck and are extremely regressive.

Not all BLM activists hold these signs just like not all Trump voters are racist morons.

It is a fact that BLM leaders did not condemn BLM protesters chanting for violence against law enforcement officers.

There is blood on a lot of people's hands; BLM included.

Things like this make me sad because I can see how it could progress into a full blown race war. A race war that could have been avoided many years ago.

On another note, I am to the point that I just want to bury my head in the sand and let the youngsters figure this one out. I'll gladly pay my taxes but just leave me out of this... election, racial problems, white privilege, globalist versus isolationism and everything else.

Sure, I could opine here but what good does that do? Nothing. Not a damn thing. I could go to a rally. Again, nothing. I could protest. Again, it does no good. All I have to work with is my one vote for each category of politician and hope it is the right vote for the good of our county, state and country. Really makes me want to build a cabin in the woods and never come out again.

they condemn it, but its their people doing it. uh, how does that work?

The same way that Trump condemns white supremacist groups but many klan members support him?

You can't take the actions of few and magically make them into what you think their mission statement is.
