I expect you may feel differently if you were directly affected.
sure we have other problems, but im not sure if they are bigger. especially not while you are living them. the recently wounded/killed, their friends and family, I doubt their biggest concern at the moment is education etc...

we are being attacked by an enemy. I don't think there is a much bigger concern for our way of life than that.

how is it overblown? our governments refusal to even accept or acknowledge it is a huge problem. it is being severely understated, not overblown. not only our governments refusal, but many of the citizens as well. the term "head in the sand" comes to mind.
 
Refugees from areas that would contain possible Radical Islamic Plants should absolutely be properly vetted if they are even considered for acceptance to any country especially the West.

I was asking myself who or what was to blame for ISIS or ISIL after reading some posts here and read a bunch of articles on the topic and chose this one linked below as it makes the partisan arguments for each dominant side of US politics.

I do have a question after doing some quick research? I was under the impression that the US government asked for immunity from blame or prosecution of US forces to remain in Iraq but it was denied by the Iraqi government at the time so the US pulled out & to confirm I did a Google search:

WWI victorious powers re-draw the Middle East map at the Treaty of Versailles to serve their economic interests.

These new borders put together many different groups that do not want to share the same country.

The most efficient way to maintain stability in these newly created countries is oppressive dictatorships.

This arrangement stayed more or less stable in the 20th century; it is now unraveling.

You can blame Obama, you can blame Bush II, Clinton or Bush I but the reality is this situation started coming apart the day it was created almost 100 years ago.

Yes, it is quite a complex problem and blame cannot be laid at the feet of any single individual or administration.

I will say that most who "try" to make the situation better, just fail miserably and make it worse.

The majority of people in the Levant are essentially are barbaric and basically acting as if they are living in another millennium.

They are closer to cave men in their actions than they are to our modern day civilizations.

I'm not a fan of dictators, but those folks over there seem to only stay out of trouble when they have a dictator controlling them. Whenever we topple a dictatorship- chaos ensues and bleeds over into neighboring regions and now into Europe, USA and other Fugee accepting countries.

Looking at the refugee's fleeing those regions, it appears to be more of an invading force than actual refugees. Predominantly military aged males in good health. Not nearly the amount of women and children there should be.

It's as complex a problem as there is in the world with no easy answer and a bunch of idiot politicians with egos intervening and playing chess. The chess pieces don't play by the same rules.

It's a Tribal problem that Dictatoriship seems effective at containing. I have always believed that the mid east would have had democracy if it was their will.

It's best to achieve these goals if the locals can't see western fingerprints.

CIA helping install the Shah in Iran...good move.

US boots on the ground in Iraq...not so good.

It's like making hotdogs; people shouldn't see how it's done.

It's always easier to point out someone else's problems than fess up to your own. The struggling Canadian First Nation people problem was dismissed by they live so far north we can't get them the care they need. WTF?
You can't build a hospital care center up there and fly docs and supplies in and out when weather permits? No let's talk about America.

If you all would like to engage in a debate about First Nations in Canada I'm more than happy to go there. Don't equate the lack of discussion about an unrelated topic in this thread to Canadians not caring. Thats awfully ignorant.
