America this week, what the hell?

I believe if we elect Hillary we will have 4 more years of Obama. I believe he has done a abysmal job at the presidency. Race relations are worse than any time in my lifetime. We have made "deals" with Iran and now Iran is thumbing its nose at us am saying we are all that is wrong. We have a president who has followed through on his threats of if have a phone and a pen. If the phone doesn't work I will use the pen. We lambasted George W. For his excessive executive orders but have remained silent in obama's executive orders. Isis was allowed to form after Obama pulled all of our troops out of Iraq just befor an election then said I ended it. Now we have a major world wide terror groups that needs to be addressed. Obama refuses to connect terrorism and radical Islam. I don't believe we can afford 4 more years of Obama. Most of these attacks that have taken place in Europe in the past month have been Syrian. As well as some small attacks here. And Hillary want a 500% increase in Syrian refugee's. She has constantly advocated for open boarders. We already have roughly 94,000,000 citizens not in the work force. 15 million unemployed in this country. $103,000,000,000 roughly in unfunded liabilities.
U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time
I don't think we are doing very well at all

Edit: I forgot to give reasons why I'm voting for him over Hillary

I have stated befor trump understands budgets and business. He will attempt to secure the boarder. And wants to halt immigration from countries affected by terrorism until proper vetting can be done.

Obama did this with Iraq and it was called a smart idea.

I'd take 4 more years of Obama in an absolute heartbeat.

Perfect? No way.
Mistakes? Sure.

Character, intelligence, dignity, integrity, and class? Has them all in spades IMO.

Family man? Thats obvious. An example for many and especially those of his race.

Taxes and health care? Well, I'm one who does well but also expects to get hammered. Part of living here.

The last election was the "jobs" election. It was all about that if you recall. Problem solved? No. But its in much much better shape. Is it even a problem? Perhaps not on a Presidential level, because there will always be some level of unemployment and people will decide to take themselves out of the labor market for one reason or another and wages are impacted by countless variables.

Yup, I'd keep him on if I could, for sure.

Only 6% of scientists are republican.

Duh. That's because most are academics that still teach who get paid by state or federal funds. Most have Phd's and have/had lots of loans. Actually 52% are considered liberal, 6% conservative and I don't have a clue about the other 42%. Your comment implies 94% liberal. You need to tell the whole story man. Most true scientists that I know (and I know several) could care less about politics. They are more concerned about their chosen field. The ones who do some research and also teach (vast majority of them) are just college professors with a grant. You know, the ones who gave us the slogan "Those who can't do, teach."

Most engineers are moderate to conservative.

The people running banks are more conservative.

Lawyers are moderate.

Actors and actresses and artists are mostly liberal.

Most who grow our food are conservative.

Business people are mostly moderate.

People who manufacture our vehicles and mine our coal and work in factories are mostly moderate. Fiscally liberal and socially conservative.

There you go.

This^^^ is totally worth repeating due to it accuracy and honesty. Thanks Donny! Nes pais?!

I don't think it was the meme itself that upset people. More the fact that someone forgot than memes are meant as jokes and declared it accurate and honest.

As far as trump using bankruptcy to get around the law. That's the dumbest thing I have heard in a while. Bankruptcy Law as it is known is just that, Law. He used the law and it just so happens that the law favored him. There are also many different form of bankruptcy. He has declared chapter 11 a few times, that is to reorganize and stay in business. Is every person that declares bankruptcy as bad as trump in your mind? Have you ever started or run a business. That fact that most business startups go bankrupt does that make them unfit for elected office? I had 4 go belly up before I got one to run. Does that make me a bad person? I didn't declare bankruptcy for them because I was too poor to have any money in them at the time. Does someone that was forced to declare bankruptcy because of a divorce or death in the family become bad in your eyes? If you declare bankruptcy in your mind should that disqualify you from running for office?

This explains the basics of bankruptcy for those that do not understand it.

So could you explain how he used bankruptcy to avoid the law?

I'm not going to refute your post. You believe what you believe and that's fine. I would like you to do a bit more research though because I'm not going to do it for you. Go to census.gov and find out how many more people are on government assistance programs now compared to 2008. You should and will be astonished. The classic "makers vs. takers" is getting ridiculous. Sure, I think Obama did a lot of well-intentioned things while in office but unfortunately we cannot continue many/most of them because, guess what, we cannot pay for them! Look at the debt. Sure, the unemployment figures are not bad but look at the number who have dropped out of the workforce. They are still getting paid though through government programs.

I don't think we can afford four more years of Obama without massive, and I mean painful and profound tax hikes across the board. I don't mind paying my "fair share" but in order for all of Obama's programs and ideals to be fiscally responsible we would have to pay around double in taxes, assuming more just don't drop out of the work force and get on government programs. Is that what you want? If so, fine and more power to you. Good luck because if that's the case, I will quit being a "maker" and start being a "taker."

The average working American already pays around50% in taxes. 30% yearly to the federal government. Then state income if you have it. Then on top of that look at the fica, social security, and any other totals you pay out of your check before you even get it. Most of these programs need to go the way of the dodo bird. It's fun to feel good but it's better to stay afloat.

Which Type of Bankruptcy Should You File? Chapter 7 vs. 13 - AllLaw.com

So could you explain how he used bankruptcy to avoid the law?

I will briefly answer you question. I actually went back a few posts to see why I said that Trump "used bankruptcy to avoid the law" and could not find it. So I don't want to speculate as to where you were when you wrote that so I will state what I think I said (trying to give you the benefit of the doubt here), he used bankruptcy to avoid paying the bills he incurred. And yes, I have owned a business and spent many a night worry about paying bills and also paying bills on time.....so let's ask about him claiming and receiving taxpayer monies targeted to 9/11 business and victims......see the pattern?

. Remember when they were convinced Obama was DEFINITELY going to take everyones guns away and destroy America? They turned him into some kind of demonized character too, but it never happened...
he tried very hard to do the 1st thing, and I would say he absolutely DID the 2nd thing. we are much worse off as a country than we were before.

You mean to tell me because they're in same party they will be the same exact person? Then Trump will be another George W and we'll be starting another war that may or may not be mistake. If you blame Obama for pulling out our troops early which created ISIS, you should really put the blame on Bush. He destabilizedid the entire region by ousting Sadam.

Trump understand budget and business all right. He called it bankruptcy. Look up how many times he's done that to get around the law. Is he going to do to America what he does with his business? He says the great Wall of America will be paid for by Mexico. And the Mexican president gives him the finger. Go figure. But I do agree with his stance on immigrants from terror nations though among some other things too.
as far as I know, that number is 4. I also believe several of those were failing before he purchased them, and is WHY he got them. they were cheap. then he filed, and restructured to save them. smart business.
but, lets sat those 4 were already his, and he ran them under. 4 out of how many hundred businesses? that is in no way a bad track record for running a company.

If the president were white would conservatives constantly yammer on about "race relations?"
well, if he was running his mouth and creating dissent, then absolutely yes. hes a racist POS. his skin color doesn't matter.

I never said you did. I may not have done it well and I apologize. You will see after the meme comment there was a _#1_ mark on the left hand side of the post. That is who I was addressing after that. You have never said he used it and I did not mean to imply you did.

As for asking about the money. Sure lets ask trump. Then let's ask Hillary where they got over 120,000,000 in foreigner donations from. Let's not forget they were dead broke according to her when the left the White House. Now 3-500,000 per speaking engagement is a lot. But how many speeches to you need to do to amass 120,000,000 dollars. I'm sure both parties have questionable monies in their history. But the Clinton foundation is IMHO a much darker and murkier swamp than trumps history. Based on what I have heard of both.

Sorry, I could not resist! I got to be honest though, I really hope he gets traction but he will never get the media coverage.

But she also has the ability and experience to govern a country and has championed much good legislation which Trump has not. Federal governing is totally structured differently than running a business.

I would vote for him in a heartbeat if I though he had a snowballs chance in hell. This is the first election in a long time where I am actually voting against someone. Hillary Clinton and the history that surrounds the family is just flat scary. 40+ seemingly random deaths of people surrounding Her and Bill. People that could have or were going to in some cases testify against the clintons. The book the secrete service agent wrote. If 10% of it is true she is a real life Dr. Evil in my opinion. I have said it several time I am not Trump fan but Clinton flat out scares me.

Do people promoting Johnson know his policies or do they just like him because he isn't Trump or Clinton.

Dude has some pretty scary positions.

That Clinton Cash clip from earlier in the discussion is pretty damning - that will give you a good idea of where some of that money has come from.

I like Johnson because he is a small government guy. The government has become so bloated that it's overwhelming.

He does have some policies I disagree with. But I would gladly take those to shrink the government. I am a constitutionalist, conservative that believes in personal liberty.

not really, at least it shouldn't be. clearly the way its being ran now is not working. government IS a business, it should be ran like one.

or, if not, government needs to keep its hands OUT of business completely.

is there anything ran by the US government that has been successful?

But she also has the ability and experience to govern a country and has championed much good legislation which Trump has not. Federal governing is totally structured differently than running a business.

Lesson:
The biggest difference between a business and a government is this:
Governments are designed to spend money.
Businesses are designed to make money.

It's that simple. Anyone can spend it but can they only spend what they have? My biggest concern.

To the folks who have said Obama is doing a good job and want more of him and his policies.

Our economy is TERRIBLE. Unemployment is soaring, deficit is huge, debt is astounding, government spending is huge.

The way this administration changed the jobs/employment reporting has made it harder for folks to see this without researching for themselves.

sgs-m3.gif

sgs-cpi.gif

sgs-emp.gif

sgs-gdp.gif

sgs-usd.gif

Inflation, Money Supply, GDP, Unemployment and the Dollar - Alternate Data Series

So lets take employment/unemployment for example. The reporting changed so that people out of the work force for longer than 1 year were no longer counted. As well as the new jobs added- yes new jobs were added, but 60% of them have been by folks getting second jobs to survive and pay for other folks to be on the .Gov dime. Fewer and fewer jobs are added by folks who are out of the job market. That's a tell tell sign of really bad economic decline.

Real unemployment hovers around 20-23%. That's frighteningly high.

Debt- Obama and his administration and policies have MORE THAN DOUBLED the US marketable debt. More debt has been added than the previous 4 presidents combined.:dizzy:

Deficit: Under Obama the deficit continues to rise, rise, rise....

More people are on food stamps than ever before. Under Obama more folks have been added to this program than under any other president in history.

Federal spending has skyrocketed.

Deficit by President: What Budget Deficits Hide

Faith in the Federal Government is at it's lowest point in the history of the country. For a plethora of reasons.

Race relations are getting worse and worse. This definitely can't ALL be attributed to Obama/administration. But at every moment possible they have fanned the flames, coming out with statements crying of racism whenever a black person is shot by a white cop- before investigations are even conducted.

He has used every single mass shooting incident to push forth an anti-2nd amendment agenda. When congress and the American people shut him down and have continued to show him we do not want more gun legislation- he backdoors the legislative process with executive orders.

He doesn't even wait for the blood to dry or the bodies to be counted before going into agenda/never let a tragedy go to waste mode.

Under Obama more drone strikes have taken place than at any other time. Yes, this is a newer technology and so it will be implemented more and more, but the consequences and negatives of drone strikes that kill potentially innocent victims versus targeting and taking out the single individual needs to be considered.

Healthcare is a NIGHTMARE. The ACA is and continues to an absolute failure of epic proportions, it will cost more and more and coverage will shrink and shrink until it implodes, and then they will foist single payer onto us just as they foisted the ACA onto us; single payer is the only thing worse than the ACA.

The middle east is a nightmare. Again, not all the blame can be placed at Obama/administrations feet, but they have successfully made the situation worse to the point of the problems bleeding into other nations, including our own.

I couldn't stand Bush, he was one of the worst Presidents in history, but Obama has one upped him at every turn and the Nation pays for it, our future generations will be the ones to REALLY pay for it. All that debt...

Somethings got to change drastically, business as usual (Democrats and Republicans) in Washington is sinking this ship and we are all on it.

I don't believe Trump is the answer, Hilary is definitely NOT the answer.

Only person who ran that I thought would have made any significant changes was Rand Paul.

But people marginalize him because of his hair or his father.

He was the only person running who had actionable plans that could realistically push things in the right direction for the country, but people just payed attention to the Trump/Hilary dog and pony show...
