American made fire scanner/radio?

Well, I'm sure some of you know about my "quest" of buying only American made things. I am looking for a fire scanner for my 4runner, BUT I would like to look for an American/Japanese/German made one before I settle on a Chinese one. Looking on Google really isn't getting me anywhere, I figured some of the fire fighters on here might be able to save me here. Thanks in advance!

Well I might be stupid or something, I didn't find anything on the made in America website, and how did you find Tentec?

Pardon me if this is ignorant, but how about Motorola? They're from the USA and even sponsor a NASCAR driver. That's about as American as you can get! haha

I was actually thinking about their stuff, but my dad had 2 motorola phones that snapped in half from regular gentle use, but then I thought well this can't break in half. My buddy took his brother's Minitor, and uses that, but I just don't have the money for one of them.

I'd go with motorola for quality. I've used their radios for a while now at work and when I was a volunteer without any complaints. We've done about everything you can think of to abuse them. Only downside is you'll pay to play. Ive also used portable radios from Vertex Standard but I can't remember where they are made.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have decided I am going to get the Uniden BC346XT when I get the money together.
