Amp, sub woofer, converter 2015 , 4runner

Have the base 8 speaker 4runner. Wanna raise the volume. Any advice. Car toys, quality auto sound, and best buy have all quoted me about $1500. Think i can keep my stock speakers. Anyone know anything about which converter. Best buy says just use the $50 one. All the rest say get the $200-$300 one. Was gonna do the 5 channel amp to power the subwoofer and speakers all at once instead of 2 amps.

My suggestion is join a car audio forum, you can learn a lot very quickly and in turn save your self a lot of money and headache.

I was in the same boat as you, where the stock system just wasn't cutting it. I decided to go with a 5 channel amp, new speakers and a sub. I can tell you right now though, after removing the stock speakers and seeing how shitty they are, I would say it's definitley worth the $200-300 dollars to get a few decent pairs of aftermarket speakers (depending on how you do your wiring). It sounds way better now, and I spent about $1000, but I did all the labor myself. It's not a high-end system by any means, but it still sounds way better and gets way louder than the 8 speaker stock system.

I would also advise against using a cheap line-out converter to get the signals for your amp. I saw a post from someone who just added a sub and was complaining that it had a weak signal and thus not much bass. I would recommended a powered LOC with some sort of gain adjustments like the http://www.amazon.com/AudioControl-LC6i/dp/B002T4XR78/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1434671754&sr=8-1&keywords=lc6i&pebp=1434671764163&perid=1096CS48EVSBYVNX7GAK or something similar. It will also allow you to add a bass control knob if your amp doesn't have that feature.

Eventually I'll get an aftermarket head unit so I can run the RCA's directly to the amp to get a cleaner signal and have more control, but for what I spent I'm very happy. PM me if you want more details.

Edit: Found this pic. The magnets on the stock speakers are pathetic too. The whole speakers weighs like 8oz.

Those shop are right if you are messing with car audio go with quality dont cheap out or you will be doing it more than once. The lc6i is good, 3sixty or cleansweep. I would change out stock speaker, you will end up blowing it. Most are only rated pretty low.
Everyone who comes to me and want to get louder are never satisfy with stock system. I end up adding amps and speakers and subwoofer.
