Hey everyone. I just purchased a JBL BassPro SL for under my drivers seat location and I need a wiring kit for it. What do you all recommend? I'm not looking for the cheapest nor the most expensive. Just the best.

4 gauge is way overkill for that amp. It's a 125RMS class D. So it will draw 12 amps at full draw. You could get away with 12 gauge wire for that run but most kits you will find will be 10 or 8 gauge. Literally any well rated kit off of Big A will run that just fine. I've used Boss in the past and have had no complaints.

Best to have wire with heavier insulation and stranded wire is always better then solid becaude it's more flexible. The surface area between a stranded or solid is close as current travels on the outside of the wire .
4 awg handles 70 amps
6 awg handles 55 amps
8 awg handles 40 amps
10 awg handles 30 amps
12 awg handles 20 amps
14 awg handles 15 amps
As the other member stated. 12 gauge is great choice if the max current for this circuit is 15 amp. 12 gauge gives you some wiggle room and if your circuit fuse is 15 amp just dont put a 25 or 30 amp fuse in that circuit as you be heating the wire up. Keep the fuses really close the the max current draw.

That'll be overkill, but a complete kit with quality products and affordable. You could certainly get away with the "KCA" kit for less money if you wanted, the main downside would be that the aluminum wire will not be as resistant to corrosion over time. If you're planning on this being permanent spring for the copper wire.
Being that you're planning on putting it under the driver's seat any kit will have RCAs that are too long and come with a lot of extra power wire. If you don't want to spool up RCAs either order a separate shorter set or piece together the things you'll need yourself.

Try to stay with copper as it's the 2nd best conductor we have. Aluminum is the 4th best conductor.
Copper can be soldered for better connections. Aluminum can not.
The only reason we are seeing aluminum wire more now is because of cost. Aluminum is a lot cheaper then copper.
As aluminum makes up 8.1% of the crust surface of our planet. While copper is

Our best conductor is Silver but no way would we see that available in wire form.
And Gold is the 3rd best conductor.
Also in time connection joints of dissimilar metals will react. However, aluminum to copper isnt too bad.

thanks for the help everyone. I just bought the Boss 8 gauge as it probably overkills what I need. Hopefully it's easy to figure out now to wire this up.

i'm looking for AWG 6 wire for my 640 W RMS amp. the car stereo online stores i've seen have 4 AWG or 8 AWG wiring kits only. Can anyone point me to a good wiring kit featuring AWG 6 power/ground wires?
is there a reason why these stores do not include AWG 6 wire?
