An alternate to 20" limited wheels...

Well, my wife and i bought her 3rd 4runner in a row back on May 1st and have been LOVING IT! It is a Black limited 4x4 with 3rd row tan/black interior (love the two tone interior!) and running boards. Basically everything but Nav.
Anyway, I didn't think the "skinny" 245s on the 20s would bother me but after a month I started looking for a suitable replacement.
Keep in mind, our 4R is on pavement 98% of the time so I stuck with a more street look.

I searched the for sale threads and came across a set of 20x9 chrome wheels that come on the Texas Chrome Edition Tundra. I loved them! They came with a set of Sumitomo tires in 285/50 with 2/3rd thread left and TPS sensors so it was a good deal for what I paid.

Sold my stock wheels and only ended up spending $100!

let me know what you guys think. I know most of the off roaders won't like them, but I thought I would post them anyway.

I like the tires, but ummm the rims not so much, i dont like them. First im not a fan of chrome rims to begin with but they just dont look right on the 4runner. Of course it just my opinion so if you dig em then enjoy em.

^x2 It is not my style but they do look good. It looks like a Texas truck now for real. Looks like it came right out of Dallas or Houston.

I totally understand your opinions and kind of expected it. i hope at least some guys like them, but i love them. I wouldn't have gotten chrome if the truck didn't have so many chrome accents on it. I think the wheels compliment that and I like them a lot.

I do want a little more aggressive/all terrain tread pattern tire with a little larger side wall, and some front window tint, than thats it.

Autbond, that is a sick rig!! Pretty much the exact opposite of mine, so I can see why my wheels aren't your taste!

they're nice and fit the street look, but i think they could've had some black on them and i like that they're wider. for $100 total i'd be happy about them too! great deal. and yes, get the front windows tinted.

I think they look pretty sweet. Maybe just a bit to shiny, but I still think they look sharp. The one reason I'm not excited about getting a Limited is that if I do I'll have to try and find some different wheels. I can't stand the OEM Limited wheels.

yeah man they look good, complement the truck really nicely- almost look like they could be a factory option. with looks good to me. i have a black ltd too and im getting tired of the skinnies- i think ill probably go with a mostly black rim that has some chrome accents, like the xd addicts- a couple guys on the forum have em already.

Thanks guys. Yeah there are some other better options out there, but I spent very little on the set up and I may sell them in a couple years to go with something else. I mean I had an S2000 for 2 years and 5 sets of wheels on it during that time period!

I may look into the xd addicts as well. Need to check them out.

I am glad some guys like them, but that is what makes this forum so great, a bunch of opinions and advice and there is something out there for everyone.

I think it looks pretty good. I much prefer that look to 95% of the aftermarket wheels I see.
