So I was browsing around, and I will probably have enough saved up this summer for a double din install.
As I was looking, I stumbled across the Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS AVH-X8500BHS - 2-DIN Multimedia DVD Receiver with 7? WVGA Touchscreen Display, MIXTRAX, Bluetooth®, HD Radio? Tuner, SiriusXM Ready, and AppRadio Mode for iPhone® and Select Android? Devices | Pioneer Electronics USA
Now, I was curious. It has something that no other double din I've come across has (if you know of any, please do list!)'s got an HDMI port! which is a pretty big thing for a double din, especially for those who are looking into carputer setups.
I have a raspberry Pi laying around. Incase anyone doesn't know what that is, its a small credit card sized computer that can play 1080P movies, and run quite a few variations of linux. My current build is running OpenElec 3.0.
Now, HDMI can transfer data over as well, not just video (from what I know). My current television at home has the Raspberry Pi connected, and I can control the Pi through the TVs remote which then in return sends the signal to the Rpi. TV Remote -> Tv - > HDMI to Pi.
Now, theoretically, wouldn't this also be possible on a double din inside the car? if I can use the same touchscreen to control the Pi, it would make for a pretty simple Carputer. Hook up an external hard drive, for movies, television, anime, and especially music. (in .FLAC! since it'll be over HDMI).
Also, I was looking at headrest DVD monitors. If they make a single HDMI input to three seperate HDMI outputs at once, the raspberry Pi could be plugged into it, and then the corresponding three outputs to the Pioneer stereo, and 2x to the headrest DVD players for movies!
What do you guys think, any input, opinion! Much appriciated

! It's funny, the Appradio dedicated ones have amazing touch screens, but these ones pretty much suck. 
! GPS is a big plus, but I already have two portable GPS systems so it isn't too big a deal for me. The big thing, is HDMI for me, or display port/ some sort of data/video interface. This one has a good touchscreen too! I hate tacky touchscreens that take 2-3 hits to make it register the command D:
