I don’t know if it’s real or not but I did also see somebody who got some LC troop in a year ago. It seems it can be done and the 79 series is a 2018 truck with modern safety and a nice turbo diesel. Not 25 year old thrashed stuff. It just takes a bunch of money and it can be done. I’m sure it’s not cheap.

Well yeah, if I had money to burn, I'd be buying all kinds of stuff. I'm basing my comment off my meager firefighting wages and living in one of the most unaffordable areas of the country, the California Bay Area.
Hell, I might even build myself a ridiculous BroDozer and do some Mall Crawling .

Even if he isn't "associated"(looks like someone called up Jacoby & Meyers for free advice on a disclaimer), I don't trust a company that cites this guy as their "brainchild". LOL if you think 85k is expensive for that. I actually thought that 85k was a BARGAIN for something like this.

Yeah the pop ups are insane. Reality is this: unless the 79 has passed US emissions testing and US crash testing (not theoretically could, not could if you did it, but HAS), then that’s on the company/person importing it. If it HAS, then you don’t need them, you can bring it over yourself because it’s federally approved.
Ask for that proof. Otherwise you’re importing a soon to be crushed cruiser. Also, I seriously hope I’m wrong because I’d buy one too!

I would never pay up front for something that was promised in theory. If it sounds too good to be true it is a scam. If they can afford to import them they can afford to have one on the ground in the US with a valid title.
The 79 series is not a luxury vehicle inside, very basic. No flash or bling on the inside. Designed for hard work. I never imagined Cummings would get their crate engine program rolling but they did it. 2000 or older and you can put a r2.8 into it.
Here is hoping some day if I’m still alive in 25 years I can import a 2018 79 series. Need to fly over to AU and buy one and have it stored for 25 years.
