So we had an interested ice storm in my area last night, complete with lightning and thunder, quite intense. I had a knot in my stomach knowing the 4runner was parked on the street... on a hill.... it was the most slippery ice i have ever seen. apparently a car grazed the back of my truck and sent it down the hill, i doubt it was moving too fast as the hill isn't too steep. The police notified me the my truck was at the bottom of this hill and when I found it, it was resting with the left front sidewall resting against the curb, "I had the wheels turned to the right, and it hit the left side of the street." I am concerned about possible damage. The truck didn't go over the curb, just bumped it. But that sidewall seems like a bad place to hit, lots of tire area, hence stress on the suspension??? What should i look or check for???

Sounds pretty hairy. I'd say clean underwear. How bad is it where the car hit it?

get in it and see how it drives. If you are really concerned take it to an alignment shop so they can see if anything is bent that uou may not see by visual inspection

Last winter we had a ice storm, the power went out, and I had to stay in a hotel for four days. This summer when a guys trailer hit me, I had some real light scuff (when it rained next the scuff went away) marks on my tire and he moved the weights on my rims. Well his insurance (progressive) came out and quoted me a price on a new tire, rim, balance, bumper, valence, and all the labor to fix. Well I took the money, got an alignment and a balance and got a TJM-15 and put it on myself. In hind sight I was glad the guy hit me.

I can't even find a scratch or dent, so i guess the car hit the trailer hitch?? not sure. It drove just fine, i didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.

If you let go of the wheel does it pull to one side or the other? You know... like it needs an alignment. If not it sounds like you dodged the bullet.

Sounds like you may have gotten off lucky. I would be sh*tting bricks if that happened to me.

yeah, it may just be a christmas miracle, the truck should get an alignment anyhow, it has been through a lot since the last alignment a year ago. A summer of 4wd roads in Colorado, Imogene pass and the Alpine loop going into Ouray were especially on her.
