Android Auto and volume control issues

I'm driving a 23 TRD Sport. When I have my phone ( Currently Samsung Galaxy 24+ ) via bluetooth or USB-C cable and play audio or video, I'm running into an issue.

If I change the volume with the dial or volume buttons on the steering wheel, Either the 4runner or my phone stop playing what I am listening to and launch Spotify and start playing what ever I was last listening to.

I've researched this for hours and can't seem to find a solution. It's frustrating to not have the ability to change volume without launching Spotify.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I believe it's a setting on your phone. You're going to have to dig through Spotifys settings and your phones.

You're experiencing a common issue with some Toyota and Android setups where adjusting the volume triggers media playback from Spotify, overriding whatever you were originally listening to.
