Annoyed. 2015 Limited Rain water drips on seats.

Just traded up from a 2004 4Runner Limited to the 2015 Limited 4wd. It's been a great upgrade, but I'm annoyed by a small issue and wonder if anyone knows of a solution:

When I open either front door, water that has collected in the weatherstrip channel at the top of the door drips on to the seat. I don't think that wind/rain deflectors will solve this because the water is collecting in the door jam as runoff from the roof, I presume.

As a remedy, I keep a small towel in each door, but I think this issue is so elementary, that it should not exist.

Am I alone in this issue?

Your not alone. My 4runner does it along with my Avalon and my wife's Honda. My old RAV4 also dripped. I seems that when the manufactures did away with the metal channel over the door they all seem to drop water into the seat.

You are not alone. My wife keeps a towel in her '15 Limited as well and complains about the seats getting wet. I'm not sure where it comes from.

so you have stick on or in-channel vent visors? i have the stick on ones and i have never had any drippage.. i can see however how the in-channel ones could possibly do that

If I understand the OP correctly, the issue is neither caused by or could be eliminated by vent visors. OP is talking about when he opens the door not window.

I have stick on window visors and it still drips. Annoying but whatever.

Try rubbing (then wiping off) some RainX, might help the rainwater go where it needs to go.

abrupt stops before putting it into park will resolve the water in the channel issue

how vent visors get into this conversation is beyond me.

Wax does indeed help, in my experience with other vehicles.

"Rain gutters aren't cool!" they all said. "Rain gutters aren't cool!" And then the design folks listened, dammit.

It never happened with any vehicle I owned, back when we had sensible rain gutters on our cars. Also made roof racks easier.
