Annoying brake squeel - help ive tried everything

For a few months now i have been experiencing a very annoying squeal (or squeaking rather) from my brakes. It happens when i put only a little pressure on the brakes, but not if i slam them on. When it started i thought the brakes might have been worn (just bought in earlier this year and have no maintenance records) so i changed both the pads and shoes, which both needed replacing. This did not solve the problem. I have cleaned them thoroughly and it still squeals.

Anyone have any ideas whats going on, i think its coming from the front.

Could it be the rotors?

Did you put grease or anti squeak on your shims when you installed pads?

Yes i did

Change the pads to ceramic. Some pads just squeak.

it's always a good idea to have them turned when doing a brake job. that way the two friction surfaces are at "full contact during brake application. drums/rotors could also be glazed. i work on semi trucks and i've seen alot of rigs come through the shop with this problem from overheating the brakes going down steep grades. it's kinda like wheels on a train. that metal to metal contact without much friction creates that "squeal" when lightly applied until the brake force increases.

no problem! be sure to pick up a fresh set of pads/shoes while you're at it. if there is any wear in your rotors or drums, chances are that those grooves have been transferred onto the pads/shoes. sorta like two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. like i said in my previous post, you want "full contact" between the two friction surfaces.
