Hopefully not too obvious, but here's another option to add 5-volt power to the center console.
(1) get a low-profile USB 12-volt charger -- mine was 10 bucks at Frys for a 2-slot charger
(2) Disassemble the 12-volt cigarette lighter and remove the flip-cover. Search the forum to see how to remove the center console where the 12-volt lighter is.
(3) Re-assemble the 12-volt cig lighter and plug in the USB charger.
Since you've taken off the flip-cover and since the usb-charger is low profile, the console door will now close completely and hide your new mod. You can also remove the USB charger in case you need to the 12-volt socket. Piece of cake--the hardest part is removing the flip cover on the 12-volt socket.
