Another Bilstein 5100 question

Here are a couple of shots with a lot of rear weight loaded in my truck and the OME
895e/883 + 5100 combo (fronts have a 10mm top strut spacer too).

I have been getting a lot of questions on this setup and it's incredible and perfect for a DD and very capable off road. Not too stiff & probably not gnarly enough to handle heavy steel bumpers but everything else = perfect

I posted on another thread regarding your Crown King trip. Your truck looks great! I have a 2016 trail with KDSS that hopefully sometime soon I will be lifting. I have a full set of 5100s ready for install and just the other day I placed an order for the Wheeler T-13 rear coil's. I'm hoping I can set the front to 1.75 with these rear coil's and look something sorta similar to your set up. Again your truck looks very good.

I like your roof rack also. I've seen that on quite a number of other 4runners. Is that the Gobi stealth rack and ladder? I think my wife would approve…

Hey Tyler. You think this stance would be similar to a 1.75/1 setup? I know the ride quality would lack with spacer vs springs, but would the appearance be similar?

p.s do the 5100s come with new bushings/washers?

So how much of a lift are you getting with that setup? Front billys are at 0?

Does your truck remain level at frame with loaded cargo in rear? Or do you notice reverse rake?

I suppose it depends on weight being carried. For my purposes, the answers are yes, no. But I only have 50 pounds of shit back there most of the time.

Hoping to get some opinions on this.

I used my T4R trail as a work truck, the rear seats have been taken out. I've taken a ton of ground to fender measurements in the past with rear seats in, now with rear seats out, full tank, half tank, etc on as flat ground as possible

My truck consistently sits lower of the drivers front than passenger front. Average is about 3/8-1/2" lower.
The rear of the truck is more variable, most of the time the driver's rear is lower than the passenger rear but not always... Generally the sides are pretty closely matched but occasionally will get a wide swing one side to the other.

Question is has anyone set the Bilsteins 5100 at 0.85 (first step) on the driver's front and 0 on the passenger front?
Alternatively has anyone set them at 1.75 on the driver's front and 0.85 on the passenger front with the Cornfed spacers behind (I assume the height correction longer side goes on driver's rear?)
I want to keep the forward rake.
Basically can I correct the front lean by staggering the front Bilsteins?

No. While it is technically possible it won't ride right and won't sit right either. If the lean is an issue then you have to replace springs or use spacers.

Thank you! Yes I imagine that would have a similar looking setup compared to mine. Considering mine has a 2" rear and about a 2.5" front lift! Yessir it's the Gobi stealth no-rise front with the Gobi ladder

Yes, similar I'd imagine! No I don't believe they typically come With hardware because it's not necessary

Correct! Bilstein are set to 0 up front meaning I don't have any lift up front from the bilstein struts. All of my front lift is from my coils and a small 10mm top strut spacer! 2.5" front and 2" rear lift

No, and that is a very bad idea for my dynamic standpoint of how the truck might handle. Just do what I did and buy a very inexpensive old man emu polyurethane trim packer for a few bucks and have it installed in the drivers rear coil

I'll have to find the document when I'm not posting from my phone but I'm fairly certain that I've seen the Bilstein instructions that show all circlip settings to be set one notch higher on the driver side.

I know the TRD 6112s come staggered that way from Toyota.

Apples to oranges. That's the 6112. This is the 5100 that he's talking about.

Where are the 10mm spacers located and what is the point of using thise?

Yeah I get that. I thought for sure I'd seen the same document for the 5100s.

That aside, wouldn't it make sense to stagger the 5100s the same way as the 6112s or is the step-up much closer on the 6112s?

If you only use the 883 coils up front you will get right at about 2" of lift. I wanted a hair more lift and the OME top strut spacers fit that bill really great and they don't affect preload or travel or anything, just a small spacer on top of the strut that will get your fronts above 2" but at or below 2.5"

Anyone with a 1.75 and 1" back spacer on 275/70/17 on trd rims? Any rubbing issues. Had my lift done about 2 months ago. Upgraded to 275's about a month ago.. Didnt have any issue at first. In the last week I am noticing a slight rub with steering wheel fully turned to one side while going in reverse. It is slightly coming into contact with front inner corner of the fender liner..... could it be that the 5100 finally settled a bit......?

I'm running a leveling kit on stock susp, same dimension tires and "lift" as you described, yesterday I put my tires and transmission in the same position (lock left) and noticed very minor rubbing like you heard. I turned the wheel about a quarter turn right and it stopped. You're rarely in that position and won't affect much at all. I wheel almost every weekend with this setup and have never rubbed while crawling.
