Another March Run: Cleghorn to Pilot Rock into Arrowhead 3/23

This is the route Dave, Todd and I took after the Cleghorn snow run. Without all the snow buildup, it should be doable in 2wd. Who's up for it?

Where is the starting point, meet up Etc.

We always meet up on the East side of the 15, at the Cleghorn exit. It can sometimes get crowded with utv/ATV traffic, so 9a is when we usually head up.
We follow Cleg up and over, then head up to Pilot Rock and follow the trail to Arrowhead. Epic scenery, and a pretty mellow ride.

Im down for this. After my sons were talking about Azusa, my wife wants to go on this one. She was never too crazy about Azusa, But she loves trail running in Green Valley so this run is more to her liking.

I did the entire run bone stock a couple months ago, in fresh snow. You'll be fine.

Bryce, what time or how long did it take you guys to do cleghorn and pilot rock? Btw my buddy with an older fj and I are in for cleghorn so far. Depending on time for pilot rock.

Can we avoid pin striping on this run?? I'm too new and not ready to look like a real off-roader yet.

Even if you get all crazy like that, you will still be able to avoid pin stripes. Come out enjoy the scenery and fun with other t4r members. If you do not want to do the off shoots. You can go around them. No one is gonna force you to do what you and your rig doesn't want to do. Your choice.

What Keemo said. Being stock, I generally take the "cheater" lines on most stuff. Though, I will go for gnarticulation on some stuff. I think we should take our time with this one, and get plenty of pictures. Also, if anyone needs to head home early, the Cleghorn portion of the trial only takes about 2 hours.

I think we should take our time with this one, and get plenty of pictures. Also, if anyone needs to head home early, the Cleghorn portion of the trial only takes about 2 hours.

My kids are testing for a martial arts belt in the afternoon. I see the off ramp for Cleghorn on the way to shoot at Hodge, but do you turn around and get off on the 15 or dump out another way ?

The Cleghorn trail comes out on the 138, and you can take it back to the 15.

Bummer, I would've totally been there but I'm on call

I did pilot rock not last weekend, but the weekend before. There were a couple hair parts due to mud. I'm sure that's all cleared up by now.

10-4. To the new guys, there's a Chevron and McDonalds off of the 138 exit, just north of the Cleghorn exit. I always fuel up and grub there.
