First of all, this forum was invaluable to my decision making when I was shopping around for a new vehicle last summer. Sorting out what was what with the 5th Gen 4R really helped to cement the TE as the choice. No regrets whatsoever: it's a vehicle that my wife and I both love driving daily and it has not let us down yet. The weather where we live can be horrible, but on a day like today where we had white-out conditions, the TE roared through deep snow drifts with confidence, giving us great pleasure to be in our vehicle. So, thanks to the many, many, great threads and posts here that helped us figure out what to spend our cash on!
Second, we're running the stock wheels with a set of Continental Extreme Winter Contact tires and we're going to get a new set of wheels for the stock Bridgestones (trying to save some money so the stocks will stay for another year or two). We're down to two choices and I'd love some opinions on these as well as on what if any differences there might be ride-wise. Both will fit fine, but due to different offsets and backspacing they'll fit differently. I don't know enough about these things to have an informed opinion but I don't want the ride to change too much from what is going on with the original set.
Preview tells me that I've got some weird thing going on with the photos, but I think you'll get the idea. The TE is Classic Silver Metallic.
The first one is the Level 8 Strike 6, 17 x 9, with 4.5 BS and OS of -12. My calculations tell me that the wheels will sit about .7 inches further away from the body than the original combo.
The second is the Ultra Rogue, 17 x 8, BS 4.88, OS 10, and it will sit .2 inches closer than original.
