Antennas in the cargo windows?

Just as another data point: all 4th gen 4Runners had diversity antennas, then 5th gen (2010-2013) went with regular\aerials antennas (old school);

in my experience (driving the same roads every day), reception in my 2013 Trail with aerial antennas is better (and I would say much better) vs. 4th gen that had diversity antennas.

Also, as a side note: diversity antennas requires power for amplifier and filter they employs (at lest that was the case in 4th gen), so if you are having receptions issue or switching to after market radio that is the first place you need to look into to make sure that amplifier\ filter are powered and functional.

yep. I was just coming here to say, my 06 has the diversity antenna, and not a standard one. im surprised they went back to a standard one.

ive always been impressed with the reception on the 06. plus no antenna to bash against trees and such...
