Any difference in 1999 LTD vs Highlander springs?

Forgive me if this has been stated but I can't seem to figure out from the numerous posts that I've searched through.

Everything I've read tells me that the springs on 1999 models are the tallest. I've also read that some have ordered the 99 highlander springs. Is there a difference? I'm R&R the LBJ on my 1999 LTD(no lift) with 155k mi next week. Struts are also toast so I'm planning to replace those. I'm also replacing the springs and am looking at the tallest stock ones I can buy.

I found a post that listed the part numbers for the 99 Tall springs.
Front Passenger Side Springs - Blue / Yellow (48131-35400)
Front Driver Side Springs - Blue / Pink (48131 - 35350)
Both Rear Springs - Yellow / Red (48231 - 35210)

The parts are different from the stock ones for my 99 LTD because when I select the ones for my 99 LTD, it gives me a different part.

Which of the 2 are taller?

The part numbers listed are the 'Tall '99 springs. Whatever else you see has to be shorter. All the Highlanders had those springs, but so did most '99 SR5's and Limiteds with factory 16" wheels, including mine. What are you getting for your truck? Are you using your VIN?

Use your vin and call cameback toyota they would tell you what springs your 4runner needs. I just replaced mine and the part number was different from what you posted. I give them my vin and they told me which ones I need it. I have a 99 ltd 2wd

I went to camelback and entered my year and model and it gave me a different part. It did not list the part number but it showed up as a separate item with a different price in my cart.

I suggest you use your VIN.

See if you get the same thing. 2wd is different, but I'm surprised by make and model you get something different.

Does 48231-35200 match for the rears? That's the shorter spring used with 15" wheels.

which matches the part numbers that I found in the post for 99 talls so I'm ok ordering the part number for the 99 talls.

Looking closely at the parts that camelback listed for my year/model, it shows Collision Catalog - 1999 - Toyota - 4Runner
front suspension, suspension components, spring 4WD, 3.4 liter, 15 wheel Left

Does that 15 wheel indicate 15 inch wheels? Did the 1999 LTD ever come with 15 inch wheels? The reason I noticed this is that Toyota parts zone showed the 99 talls part numbers with a manufacturer note that it was for 16 inch wheels. Maybe this is why it showed me a different part on camelback. Bottomline is I'm safe ordering the 99 tall part numbers for my 99 LTD.

Yes, the 15 is the wheel size.

Since the VIN doesn't carry the 15/16 inch wheel info, the parts database returns both spring sets on all queries. It doesn't matter if they actually got used at that trim level. (Just my guess, I don't know for sure--well, I do know VIN doesn't do wheel size.)

But yeah, you're safe.

so what are the color swatches on the springs? there is a 99 sr5 at my local yard and am interested in the front springs for my 01.
and how much taller are they compared to my 01's springs?

All 4x4 99 4Runners came with tall springs except RWD only and/or ones that came with 15" wheels.

Hunting for 99 coils all around... Rears and passenger front are available, but not driver's - discontinued. Any updated part numbers?

• 99 coils front left 48131-35350 - DISCONTINUED
• 99 coils front right 48131-35400 - available - $165/ea!

Ourisman lists the last option as compatible for both sides in the front, but fine print says front right only - I assume I can't swap these. Also one of the only options for the 1998 year as well.
