I agree. We shouldn't have to spend $250 for an after market item to correct this.

Yes and Yes but also... make sure we are changing out our cabin filters.... Ive been very lazy with this over the years but I will ALWAYS make sure to change mine. I currently run the carbon cabin filter, which is a little more noisy thank stock but its much better at filtering out smells.

I agree as well... its more so of not forgetting to turn them off and on. I haven't had a vehicle in over 15 years that didn't have auto lights.

Bought a certified pre-owned 2018 4Runner about 1 year ago that had 4k on the ODO. Put 20k on her since purchased... Have had a blast driving as a daily driver and doing more than a few overland trips / off road adventures from desert terrain/high desert to snowy mountain trails. I have definitely not thrashed vehicle, but definitely have used it for what it is for. Never towed anything so far. Nothing but a joy aside a few very minor things I would like to be different. Now the gripe... At just less than than 25k I took a look underneath and noticed a small oil leak. Looked like the oil pan gasket was wet on the backside Toyota dealer just serviced it a day or 2 prior and didn't mention a thing to me about it on the service report. So I took it back in & voiced my discontent with the situation to the service manager and an hr later I get a call from the manager saying its the REAR MAIN SEAL! Both of us were astonished and I was obviously extremely disappointed, to say the least. What a joke. 1 yr old, 24k on her and a major repair already!? Luckily it's covered, but that's besides the point...

The only complaint I have is I wish it had more power or they kept the V8 option.
Other than that the Limited trim level delivered almost everything I wanted except for a few things like HID headlights. Pretty happy with everything… leather interior, smart key, auto window switches, tech, climate control, Torsen center diff, creature comforts are all there.
That said, I still like my 4th gen more, which is why I kept it just to beat on off-road.

Yeah, I think it's a fairly common problem. Mine doesn't pop out enough to bother me, but it's definitely not flush with where it originally was.

Mine does that on one side, but that's because i've taken my bumper cover off a million times to install lights, winches, armor, etc.
It seems that over time, the bumper cover clip under the headlights weakens if you mess with it a lot.
Some people have issues straight from the dealer, but most people run into the issue after they have taken the bumper cover off, like myself.

We've had our Limited for about half a year now, here's my top list of gripes with what is otherwise an excellent vehicle:
-stock headlights suck - XD 4300K HID kit fixed that, but they were truly disappointing, almost unsafe bad
-rear wiper sucks, why mount it in the spoiler so it has to swing down, leaving the narrowest part of the cleaned area at the top where you're looking through the window?!? All my previous Toyota SUV's have had the wiper at the bottom of the window.
-rear spoiler sucks, impossible to dry up in there after a carwash, always get drips
-Limited trim could have done without the extra chrome, different front and rear bumpers, deeper rocker panels, and 20's, these are all things I'd like to change to match the other trim levels, maybe offer an "UnLimited" with the full time AWD, memory seating, heated/cooled seats, auto headlights, etc that people actually like about the Limited, without all the junk they wish they didn't have to accept to get it?
-too much rake from factory, bring the front up an inch and increase the springrate in the rear if necessary
-no heated steering wheel in the Limited, this one really bugs me for some reason
-no car play in factory head unit, why though?
-throttle by wire calibration, it's just terrible. Sprint Booster makes a big difference, but it's $300 you shouldn't need to spend to fix this issue

Haven't got one myself yet so can't say how much it helps, if any.
The Brake Dive. I test drove a stock TRD Off Road and a dealer lifted one and they both felt the same. The first few stops was like it was going to do a summersault. I'm getting used to it... probably just the nature of a true off roader.
The Stereo sounds awful. Constantly tuning and adjusting the settings and it just isn't working out.

Parking brake still doesn't work consistently. I got a 4th and a 5th gen both parking brakes suck.
Front diff bearing race properly machined would be nice. As Yota has front diff prob since forever.
Dial down the ABS/VSC, too sensitive. 4th gen was not as sensitive can break it loose a little more.

The rough country spacers I put in actually improved the brake dive dramatically. Just using the spacers until I decide how serious of a lift I’ll need.

This always baffled me. Unless you inebriated, how does one forget to turn on the lights? When it is too dark to see the illuminated buttons in the car, it is time to turn on the headlights.
