I've searched around and I see a bunch of treads on 3rd gen water pump replacements and 4th gen v8 replacements, but nothing on a 4th gen v6. I am sure it is pretty similarly but I am curious. I keep seeing threads on "is my pump good" and I am going to drain and fill the coolant and replace the serpentine belt, figured I may as well do the pump while I'm at it. Any lead on this wound be appreciated.
Any DIY water pump threads for a V6 4th Gen?

Just did this again following this thread because I originally bought a POS Gates Water Pump:bash:. Only by Aisin and follow ths thread and it will be a snap.
Did you happen to replace the tensioners for the belt?

No, I only replaced the pump and gaskets and changed all the coolant. I go by if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Valid point. Maybe I should step back and just to the belt. Hmm...
I used to go by this until I did a water pump on one of my old vehicles... everything was great until the tensioner pulley fell apart on me a month later with no warning.
$60 worth of parts can save you a lot of time and headaches down the road.

You just made me take a look at the write up for the v6 4runner. I'm honestly really happy I did, I'm used to water pumps being part of the timing belt, I'm way less worried when mine goes now. :reddance:
