Anybody have any experience with this micro-start xp-3 antigravity batteries? microstartxp3 | Antigravity Batteries I am not a dealer or affiliated with this company. My brother bought this and was showing me this item. He bought this for $130 off of a snap on truck from his work. Any input or experience would be greatly appreciated.

The guys on the 4x4 podcast were talking about them and said some pretty amazing things about them. No long term review but they jumped several vehicles on one charge and were able to use it to power a winch to pull a vehicle onto a trailer. I was definitely intrigued when I heard about them. May pull the trigger as at that price point I think it is worth it if it delivers. Even if you don't use it to jump vehicles it would be great to keep electronics powered up in the field.

I've not heard of it before, but it is interesting. Most of the small "jumpstart" units plug in through the cigarette lighter and trickle charge the battery. This device has peak amperage to actually jump start a vehicle. There is an obvious lack of any technical specifications other than size and weight (noticed 12oz in one spot and 14oz in another); no mention of chemistry, AH, recharge time, cycles, etc. So, either there has been some breakthrough in supercapacitor technology vis-a-vis size/power ratio, or I'm missing something.

I'm a little suspicious of how they get 200amps (peak 400amps) and at least 10volts in such a small package. There are very few specs on that thing, not saying it doesn't work... but if they can make batteries that small even for jump starting, Tesla should not have any issues squeezing 600mile range on a battery half the size they are currently using...

I'm as skeptical as the rest of you. The only assurance I have is that one was purchased from a Snap On dealer. Snap On is not required to warranty this item even if it's purchased of off a truck. However, the driver and most likely the owner of the "route" has to stand behind it. And if he sells something off of his truck and it sucks, his reputation is in jeopardy. So at least some research or abuse of the product has to have happened already.

For that price I would guess they are 3 cell 2000-3000mah lipos max. I've never experimented with trying to start a car with 8 AA duracells, anyone else?

LOL no doubt I am always leery when a battery specs doesn't list the type, the mAh, OR even the voltage, leaving you to assume that it is 12v. That in itself is pretty unprofessional IMO.

I have no doubt that it may start a couple of cars that turn over easy on relatively moderate temperatures. Li-polymers have a pretty damn strong discharge rate, I might think it could turn a starter motor over, hell they will power 8 motors on an octa-copter for 10-15 minutes with payload.

It has good reviews on Amazon (except for one dummy that was scared of power)....discharging from a battery.

Met these folks at the Orlando MC show. Definitely know their stuff, especially lithium ion technology. Played with one of these gadgets. Great jump starter considering it fits in the glove box and goes 6 months between charges.

A friend just replaced his MC battery with their Lithium ion and shaved 9 pounds off his dirt bike.
