Any Mountain Bikers on Here?

Here's to older bikes, just not Bio Pace old like my 91 Trek 830 antelope in neon yellow with black splatter. Actually, my sister's riding that one right now and if I'm not on the 06 tandem mtb then it's the Easter egg green 98(?) Gary Fisher Supercaliper.

Nice to see a mountain bike thread! Hopefully I will be posting in here lots. Just got a 4Runner, and one reason for the switch from my car was to get something that could transport bikes better.

What I really want....Trek Remedy I assembled for a customer when I worked at a bike shop

I've got your Remedy

Is that Bike Pedlar in Hermitage?

I have a GT Avalanche 3.0. I currently am riding around the zanesville and cambridge, OH area. Salt fork, Wilds, Dillion; decent trails. If anyone lives around that area and wants to ride give me a shout.

Here is my addition. I got a Trek 6000 when I graduated HS, and rode it hard for 10 years. Then I upgraded to this Specialized, and kinda quit riding.

'08 Rockhopper 29er Comp Disc here. I don't think I have any photos of it, though. I'll hafta make a point of getting some the next time I'm out.

Mtn biker checking in here. On a Ventana El Chiquillo 26'er right now. Love the bike. Light and fast. Full XTR, DT 4.2's laced to King Hubs, Juicy Ultimate's for stoppers, FSA K-Force Light cockpit and crank, other blingy lightweight bits. I wanted my race bike to be under 20 lbs. With pedals she was about 19.75 lbs.

Also a pic of the Runner racked and loaded down with 4 dudes, 4 bikes and several hundred pounds of gear. Annual MAN trip. Just got back from riding up in western NC...DuPont, Pisgah, Bent Creek. Good times! :guitar3:

Bike

I have a 2012 Cannondale 29er. It rides well. I ride it 10 miles to work and 10 miles back to my buddy's house that I am staying at. I have also taken it out on some trails nothing too bad but it was fun.

Ah, glad i found this thread! I recently got into the mountain biking sport and love it! I was wondering how you all manage to keep your legs from completely tiring out at hour into a ride. I feel like my body is exhausting itself to quickly, which is most likely due to diet. What do you all eat?

I want to ride 2+ hours without my legs cramping up to the point of water breaks every 5 minutes...

I would say it all has to do with conditioning. Give in a few months of constant riding and it should get better. But if you are only riding every few weeks your legs are not going to be used to the continuous strain. Maybe try and pace yourself better at the beginning, and take some electrolytes to eat on the ride. Keeping a steady cadence will help also. Water is great, but if you are planning on riding a long time in some heat then you are going to need more to ensure that your body has the proper fuel to keep going.

I would personally look into some products by Gu. If I know I am going to be riding for an hour plus I will make sure I have something to eat, and usually around the 1 hour mark depending on weather conditions.

As for diet, overall I do not do much. But if I know I am riding within a few hours I make sure to eat something easy on the stomach.

Heres a pic of me at Collonade in Seattle. Built under I5

Tip for new riders.
Ride all the time. Find people that ride long and hard and try to keep up. Have fun!

Beginning of season I am like that. I ride 5X/wk. My diet is normal except I eat homade peanut butter and crackers 30 minutes before ride. I only ride singletrack and usually for not more than 1 1/2 hours due to pace.
