Any service issues with skidplates?

I have a 2012 Blizzard Pearl SR5, 4 wheel drive, with Duratracs. I hope to add Bilsteins and skidplates, (probably Bud-Built). I intend to do some mild offroading and from what i've gathered from this forum, skidplates would be a smart investment.

My question is: does the presence of the full set of skid plates cause any dealer service problems?

Your best bet is to get to know someone there, let them know you intend to go beyond what Toyota has provided in order to protect delicate parts, and you actually plan to responsibly wheel your 4rnr and not just pound pavement at the malls. There's usually a tech with similar interests who will understand. Worst case scenario, you have to remove a portion or two before going in for service (anti-seize is your friend). Or resort to doing everything on your own, and keep track of it.

Yes agreed. I have had to re-thread my skids due to improper replacement when a service was done. I now remove my front skid before a service.

If you get Shrockworks skids there's a small hatch that is removed to get to the oil filter. They already have a hole cut for the oil plug. So, I figure it's easier to do service with SW skid plates.
