Any use for AT tires on 20 inch LTD wheels?

Other than for looks, is there any reason to get 20 inch all terrain tires for the limited? I don't believe too many go off roading with their 20 inch rims.

I personally don't have to 20" rims, but I often wish I did because I have always like the look of larger rims with A/T tires. I had the factory 20" on my '07 Silverado and put A/T tires on it once the factory street tires were worn. In my opinion, a truck or SUV should have an A/T tire look to it, plus living in WV, I may not go off-road a lot, but we have some harsh winters and the added traction from the A/T makes a difference.

hold the phone, 285s on stock 7" wide wheels.. are you lifted? If not, I need pics!! cause this will be the route I take. How are the sidewalls being that the tire is being squished onto such a narrow rim?

Stock 20's with 2.5" lift in front and 1.5" lift in back. Lots of rubbing still, mostly in reverse. Have to do some trimming and moving of the liner still, but have been out of town. I will post pics this weekend.

They were $420/tire. I had to get 5 because the week before I got my tires I had a blowout on one of the stock tires about 250 miles from home and the last thing I want to do is drive on a wrong-sized tire for 250 miles at highway speeds. Although the 5th tire @ $420 is kind of a waste, it's peace of mind not to have a really bad day with the wife and kid in the car. I have 285/60R20 Duratracs on my 2011 Limited with 20" rims (20x9 Ultra Gauntlets) and love it. Toytec 3" spacer lift. Had to cut the front wheel well liner but now have no rubbing at all.

Hello, did you need a Lift with the bf's. Just got a limited & looking at AT options.

not sure about 285's, but I went with 275/55 Bridgestone Dueller Revo's and they've been great. No mods needed, no rubbing, no issues whatsoever. There's a pic on here somewhere....

look at kingpins 4runner...he as 20s and i believe its a 285/55/20 tire...no lift at all

No lift needed, but I do have a 1" spacer lift on the front to support the ARB.

A slight bit of rubbing on the back front wells (plastic rub--it will eventually lose to the tire).
