Anybody need a reason to buy a 4R?

Yeah, I was contemplating getting a new F150 at one point before I got the t4r. Good thing I didn't there is a recall for the motors suddenly stopping while driving.

...so he bought American, a Colorado. So far so good last I heard.

I sold a 2016 ecoboost f150 for my 19 4Runner because of the issues I had. Namely ford has issues with plastic oil pans. They can’t stop them from leaking. Pain in the butt.

Where did you get that list? I need to show it to my wife. She's set on a Tiguan and I'm trying to talk her out of it.
Some of us might need a reason to STOP buying stuff for the 4Runner.. :dancin:

My 4Runner is my 5th Toyota since 1974. Have yet to have any issues that weren’t self inflicted by me. Reliability has always been my #1 concern and all my Toyota’s have easily made that a non issue.
I like the looks of many other makes and models but with an iffy reliability factor they are not an option.

PLASTIC oil pans?! I was not aware they were doing that. I love my 4Runner because of it's rugged simplicity. I have a Chrysler Pacifica with the DVD screens, full moonroof, heated/ventilated power seats front and back, and the kitchen sink. It's really a wonderfully designed vehicle with world class ergonomics and usefulness, but it has been back about 8-10 times for lengthy warranty repairs in less than 40k miles. I am keeping the 4Runner for the occasional trip to the woods with the kids, but mostly to have a rugged and capable vehicle on reserve if I ever need it.
Yeah, plastic. What made it worse is that there's no oil pan gasket between the pan and the block. Just RTV-like seal. Guess, what, with time it leaks. Techs that replace them can't put them on well enough either, so they leak again. And again. And again.
After 5th time I was done. If I can't drive a new vehicle without having to check for major oil leaks every week, then it has to go.
